it really annoys me when people say something is "natural" (as if it's a good argument against change) when while it is the default, it's completely changeable - especially when its both possible and beneficial to change.

You know when people make claims and don't argue them. Make claims and don't explain. Make claims and don't use any examples. Just. Saying Stuff. Why.
Why can't we do like in math class where you get points off for not showing how you got to your answer. I wish people would share their analysis. The principles they're using to judge something and what aspects of whatever problem relates to it. Analyze it.
Especially when it's like, stuff that isn't either common knowledge or common belief. Especially when it's some unusual principle or a principle usually applied to other stuff. Especially when it's a problem not discussed much. Maybe it's just me seeing stuff from other parts of Tumblr that are common knowledge/belief over there. idk
But yeah I want this because I don't like making opinions based on air. I want solid flooring. I want something I can argue with, chew on. I don't want to be forced to make up what the person making the statement meant.
I want to understand why if I'm going to believe anything. I want to know and understand. I want to learn and be self critical. I don't want to believe something just because everyone else does.
ironic that I'm not using any live example for this, but I'm way too scared lol. I hope some of you have also seen this same thing. If not, I guess say so, I can find something if no one knows what I'm on about.
I'm listening to the Lost Terminal podcast and the MC is like "I will keep talking, even if it kills me, (which it won't -)". And that's so based honestly. Like yeah, fair, justified, reasonable and so on.
(I'm on episode 1.4)
I hate the ideology that passive murder etc is inherently better than active murder etc
Don't mix up norms with how things are/have to be.
I love sources.
