CL OUTFIT CONTROVERSY

Do people ever stop being pathetic? SRSLY

I personally love CL to pieces. She is ridiculously talented; she can sing dance, rap and she is fluent in four languages, and she is STUNNING.

She recently kicked off her solo career with 나쁜 기지배 (The Baddest Female), which I love, except for GD being pant-less :S. One of her outfits is a long, colourful jacket over a white swimsuit and she looks amazing in it. But she recently performed in that outfit and of course it started a controversy; comments like:

  - "She's way over crossing the line. I turned to the channel because my elementary school son wanted to watch but how in the world is she a singer and not a strip dancer???? I turned the TV off right away because I was embarrassed for my son. What are the PDs doing letting stuff like this on air??? Do they not have children of their own??"

- "Why are they testing nuclear bombs on broadcast.... Aghhh my eyes"

  And the general consensus from males that "it doesn't turn me on so who cares?"

  Firstly, the song was never intended to be sexy. It is about female empowerment and self-confidence. The dance isn't  provocative for Christ's sake, so it makes sense that you aren't getting turned on by this. And if seeing women in swimsuits gets you hard then you're pathetic.

Also, 2NE1 are known for being an influential hip-hop style girl group. The “NE” in their name stands for New Evolution, and their influence can be seen in girl groups and boy groups. They aren’t your average girl group that overload with the aegyo and they aren’t interested in using their bodies for sex appeal; their choreography is more intense and their style is more akin to that of Big Bang. Their influence can be seen in groups like EvoL, whose debut track was  "우린 좀 달라 (We Are A Bit Different)", B.A.P and GLAM. With that being said, why shouldn’t this influential group’s leader be able to try new things and be influential by herself? Why can’t she be a role model by being her own unique person, outfits and all?

CL isn’t the only one who has performed in a scanty outfit from their music video. On the 2nd of June Lee Hyori performed in a black, longsleeved body suit and a considerably less fabric covering her legs than what CL did. No-one complained about that. After School recently made a comeback where they were pole dancing. Don’t get me wrong, pole-dancing is great and it is an artistic form of dance and I like the song, and After School, but if you want to pick on a recent K-Pop release for being overly sexual I would think that people would go for that one first, considering they even pole dance live.

And to the woman who complained about this being inappropriate for children SHE RAPPED WITH GOLD VAMPIRE TEETH IN AND CHANGED INTO THAT OUTFIT IN THE LAST MINUTE OF HER PERFORMANCE AND THE WAS MAYBE 20 SECONDS WHERE YOU COULD SEE HER LEGS AND IT NEVER FOCUSES SPECIFICALLY ON HER LEGS.

People should be amazed that she can rap properly with gold vampire teeth in and change outfits in a nano second. Like, seriously. How did she even do that?
