hi you don't have to answer this, but i just caught up with the rest of "there's blood on your lies" (i started reading in 2024) and thank you so, so much for continuing through the thick and thin of it. that story has been by far my favorite to follow along to and its themes of change, forgiveness, and self-love were beautiful to read. i felt like i read a version of cynthia that i've never seen before, as most interpretations of her portray her as this awesome, self-assured badass (which she is), but rarely touch upon how much responsibility she has on her shoulders as champion and how that might manifest in unhealthy habits. i loved it so much and by the end, i wished there was more because i had gotten so attached to the characters, even the ones who we only saw for a few chapters (mille, i'm looking at you). though 242 chapters and countless words was more than enough (but HELLO? seki and kai towards the end??? excuse meeeeee).
i just really loved everything you did in that story, i loved how you characterized cyllene and the security corps and volo and cogita and the clans (lucian jumpscare holy-), and i really loved how you ended the story on the same day of the year that you started it. it felt very full circle like the story, though with the passage of time, it was never going to end exactly in the same state it began. infinity out of ten, will read again once i've sat on it for a little while. i'm obsessed.
but what if I answered this anyway :)
I've been going to my inbox and grinning periodically since I first saw this. I'm glad you enjoyed tboyl so much! I've definitely got more fics involving that general characterization of cynthia, but, I'll admit, I am pretty much done with tboyl at this point haha. it ended up getting way more popular than I ever expected to (and more popular than any other fic of mine has before or since, which remains wild!) and that ended up stressing me out a bunch haha.
but I did eventually reach the end, and I'm very happy that I was able to reach the end I was hoping to give you all and... stick the landing, so to speak. :)
thank you very much for reading, and for reaching out on tumblr dot com to tell me how much you liked it! because like. stress aside, frustration aside, readers like you who loved it SO much made it all worth it in the end. so thank you, very VERY much, and I hope you enjoy rereading as well!
have a picture of my cat looking very silly while you're here :)
