Sharp Tongues

Hold back no longer, you will hear my words within your ears

No more sitting in silence as we watch those around us continue to fall for no reason

To many times we have complied to demands of those wanting us to bend to their will

All those oppressed in some way, human rights are not a check list they are a duty to be upheld

Respect is not a given, safety is not a privilege, life lived without incident is not a lucky shot in the dark

We listen as you speak we always have, now it's your turn to do the listening

No more are we living in a past present future mentality where those who think they hold power truly hold power

The people you stand upon are your base

If they shift, when they shift you and all those like you will be subject to fall

Fall hard we say to you know, see how it feels to live each day on the edge of a knife blade; knowing we could be cut at any time for any reason

Your words venom, our words the antidote

Time to change thus to create a world only dreamed of by the minds of peace and not force

Come together may our voices raise as one

The sword of light will finally cut though the shade of darkness...

Guilt is Felt

Why me in this way have I been mistreated?

Where do my roots lead back to, sadly I no longer know.

Why didn't we return to our so called home...

Where were we to return to?

A land built upon our backs.

Homes we defend yet told we were unworthy to have ourselves.

All we seek is to be treated with respect just as you demand to be.

Yet, misdeeds of others and those who give into the stereotypes mark us all as savages.

Live a life tools that you're less than, see what that does to you.

Oppression of a race just to make another feel as if they are not just as mentally oppressed as everyone else.

I no longer feel guilt for sharing my voice.

I will no longer live in guilt, shame or the shadow of minds unable and unwilling to see the truth they cling to is not the truth that's at hand...

Summer's Gone

Lost to me are the days of warmth and sun

Only a memory trapped deep within a dusty mind

Withered are thoughts of running barefoot through freshly cut grass

Sand has been poured in the pools of my thoughts on this subject

No more do the flames of the nearby grilling hamburger, hot dog or chicken roast in my nostrils

Bitter is the taste of the once fresh lemonade sold by the cup for 5 cents to the friendly passersby

No more riding of bikes down slopes to steep to stop

The parks swings still due to rust from the rains of my tears

Summer memories have been lost to me for quite some time

There is only a shadow let's now, there are only creepy covered shades

Summers Come

Back are the days of warmth and sun

Its time to go out, staying in is overrated

Nature is bright as it puts on its best show

The nights never seem to come as the sky only darkens by the late evening

Hear the splash of waters of pools all around

The anthem of the day is the lawn mowers tune in all its glory

Days of sun showers fall from above from time to time

Find the shade, the sun's rays will make all who linger for to long

Listen to the sounds of new life as birds chirping among shaking branches of green

Watch squirrels and chipmunks dash from place to place

The Earth continues to spin

Days are long expressions rotations that never want to end...

Shame is Learned

Have you no shame, no not now... 

The moment of my birth a joyful occasion not yet to be seen as less than another life birthed the same day. 

Grow a little older begin to notice the changes between those I know and those I don't. 

What are you compared to me, what am I compared to you? 

Proud to be me even back then. 

Age was not a factor until it was. 

Time went on older one grows its unnoticeable until it's not. 

Dropped hints fall before me from time to time. 

Still nothing or so I thought compared to the times of the generations before me. 

Yet it's there ever present. 

You should be ashamed of yourself, no no I really shouldn't not in this day and age. 

Not ever against something of which I had no control...

Hardened Honey

Once the sap oozing forth from too many cuts within the raised bark of the dusted wood. Now a crystallized amber sits atop the fresh marks of the open wood flesh being glazed in the warmth of a morning sun.

Found within are not the left over remnants of a world long sense gone. Nor are there any traces of the world here and now. All there is is a hardened gem of a golden makeup. Smooth to the touch in some spots while still jagged in hallow points within others.

Stake this sweet substance back with you to the place from where you come. It lays upon your shelf a memento of a days exploration come an gone. A day spent in the realms of nature, passing among the trees, flowers, miss and grasses beneath your sandal toes.

As it sits on your shelf the light of the day hits it in just the right way. It becomes a prism a beacon calling you back to where you once were while gathering such things. You must come back, you must search again. There is more that awaits your curious mind and a gentle sweet hand.

Life Delay

Always seems to be in the way

Think things are going good then bam the world is set on fire in no good stretch of the imagination

Threats of illness keeps me scared afraid to walk outside of my home, the air is turning against us

Next the threat of not being acceptable in the eyes of those who think they're in control make me mad that this is still even a thing in our day and age

Life in the way of progress, there is a new technology every 5 seconds yet there is still no cure to be seen

Life in the way of humanity, still carrying thoughts from an archaic mindset that one is better than another

The world one fire in no good stretch of any form of the imagination

Still not free, still afraid to breath, no end in sight to the getting worse before it gets better

I'll guess I'll do what I can... Just keep being

The Picture Within

As if witnessing an optical illusion

Look closer, what do you really think you see

Can you see the background as clearly as the foreground

Can you see the bold lines just beneath the shade of the shadows

How do they blend together so seamlessly

A trick of the light maybe, no a trick of the mind

You're seeing what you think you see

You're seeing what you want to see

You're seeing what you've been taught to see within the painted lines

No longer are there boundaries hidden by clever strokes of brush strokes

The truth under the truth that's always been there is now being seen

Try your best to recover the lined you wanted to avoid others from commenting on

Yet, it's to late the true art of your craft is exposed

As if it was all an illusion
