Summer's Gone

Lost to me are the days of warmth and sun

Only a memory trapped deep within a dusty mind

Withered are thoughts of running barefoot through freshly cut grass

Sand has been poured in the pools of my thoughts on this subject

No more do the flames of the nearby grilling hamburger, hot dog or chicken roast in my nostrils

Bitter is the taste of the once fresh lemonade sold by the cup for 5 cents to the friendly passersby

No more riding of bikes down slopes to steep to stop

The parks swings still due to rust from the rains of my tears

Summer memories have been lost to me for quite some time

There is only a shadow let's now, there are only creepy covered shades

My summer.

After the 4 wheeler wreak, I broke My pinki toe Really Bad! It was getting better * then I caught it in a extension cord ( blurted out a few choice words on that)!!! So I was back to gardening in flip flops. I felt something move under the toe of my left foot >>look down and a frigging Copperhead is crawling over my right foot. I stood still and it went on its merry way. I left the garden, I could see no sense in adding a venomus snake bite to my foot. Then My brother and son killed 7 copperheads in my father wood bin. (They missed the one in the garden) My summer has been a work in progress. Start to almost finished gardening. All the 40 quarts of corn and 45 quarts beans are tucked away in the freezer, crushed tomatoes for soup are canned and tomato juice also 30 quarts worth.

Sold 20 bushels of heritage Red striped Fall beans, the seeds we plant are passed down through the generations from my mother and dad's great parent's . No hybrid seeds for us. ( the seed companies want you to be dependent on them for seeds), so you end up with a cross of YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GETTING.

So now I can get back to my spiders and bugs!!!!!!! Camping and 4 wheeling.
