Honestly, I need to hear your thoughts on this, though. Who do you think could actually help Error? And how much WOULD they be able to help Error? Like, I know people like to often use Ink or Swap as the catalyst to help Error, but would that actually work?
If we go with the canon story, Error already messed up with one Swap and turned him into an Error. Yes, Blueberror canonically forgives him, and Error does forget about the whole situation. So let's assume another Swap decides to help him. All dandy and nice for a while.... But thinking long-term..., if Error starts to slowly regain his memories, thus his guilt grows alongside it... Wouldn't he literally just dip out of there because of how overwhelming it'd be for him? What is Swap going to do? Run after him into the anti-void? Yeah, nah, Swap is NOT seeing him for MONTHS until that man decides to come out again. Most likely not even remembering swap.
Okay, so maybe Ink? Comyet made art of them hanging out, right? Also probably no. Ink's afraid of the anti-void, but for Error, it's kind of like a toxic comfort zone. It's what he has known for too long to just abandon it for the sake of Ink's friendship so quickly. Ink would also not know how to help Error with his issues anyway. Nightmare would be canonically a no for obvious reasons. He would not care to help Error; he is much more likely to keep him miserable.
Core? They may be able to talk to him more. Would they be able to understand that he needs more than a hand reaching out to him? Debatable, I don't know much about them though, sooo.... IDK, maybe you think differently? I want to know more potential victims, people who'd care and try to help Error.

and speaking of fics... ooohohoho. you know, your question is really interesting cuz honestly ive seen so many fics where swap is kind of like a therapist to error and tries to fix him. but that NEVER goes well at all. so ima do this one character at a time.
for swap? im pretty sure its as you said, its basically doomed at this point for any timeline. even if he does feel incredible guilt for causing blueberry to become blueberror and making him feel the same pain he did, he's still so erratic that hes unpredictable in behavior. id even argue hes MORE likely to fuck up if there was a new blueberry in the mix trying to help him, he'd probably think the stakes are high and wouldn't wanna ruin it, but he'd probably get too stressed again and mess something up. blueberry is a no-go.
ink is... difficult. for one, they dont have any canon interactions so i cant say for sure with 100% certainty but i do think they would be good as friends/partners, but ink helping error with his problems sounds impossible due to inks lack of natural empathy and emotions. dont get me wrong ink is NOT like that sick and twisted manipulative misinterpretation you see with errorink sometimes i dont mean that, its just literally canonically true ink cant feel empathy, he can even be outright cruel with his words because hes tone deaf and blunt. so i dont know if ink would be able to necessarily help error, he might be too harsh about it because he cant understand errors problems.
nightmare is a no brainer abandon any thought that he'd for some reason soften up on error because no he wouldnt
dream is ACTUALLY lowk maybe one of the best options here. he already acts as a guardian of positivity, and i think theres even evidence dream apparently ""supports"" error in a way that he recognizes his goals are kinda necessary so that the multiverse doesnt implode on itself. but literally just because he already is SO self sacrificial and patient and caring towards people. he has the most empathy out of any sans au i am aware of currently and hes excellent for handling problems, be that emotional or mental or whatever. so?
mmmmm, core frisk i have to disagree on, i mean error has like a hatred for them for shielding all those aus, and he wishes he could kill them and find the omega timeline. im not sure if theres anything they could help error with because they already tried, and error was like "actually im here to help YOU" so naw.
fresh in a canon sense would not be able to help much at all because error completely despises fresh (the parasite, not the sans) and fresh already lacks emotions and empathy (kinda like ink), and its implied that he only infects bodies to manipulate them for his own goal. even if that said goal is him saying he wants to "spread happiness", its just him wanting to spread the infection, like all parasites do in the real world. so, i cant see it working out because fresh would literally only be able to see error in a way that hes valuable in his goal.
okay but consider geno. I KNOW THIS SOUNDS CRAZY LISTEN BUT PLEASE. consider. its literally his past self. i know that theres tons of comics made where error just kills geno and hates him (stuff like fatal error) but its kinda symbolic in a way where its like hes confronting his past self and gets to know why he acts the way he does. i think geno is highkey a good candidate because they have a lot in common (theyre the same fuckingg person) and geno is so close to a classic its not even FUNNY. so if nothing else i kinda see geno helping error.
if i had to say what my thoughts are, its gotta be dream. i mean just think about it. what could go wrong? well maybe error might think at first hes being overly nice to take advantage of him or manipulate him. but im sure dream has his ways of helping error, in a better way than what swap was trying. i didnt know what other sans aus to go over because error doesnt have a lot of canon interactions surprisingly, so i just thought up anyone who came to mind. if i got anything wrong character wise feel free to follow up on this!! im only an expert in error after all ehskdjd

Where do I even start? This might be long, idk. I think I’m gonna quit tumblr. Well, not quit quit, but stop posting, at least for a long time. Like a very long break. Now I know you would think, “You’ve only been here since April, this is way too soon.” Well that’s what I thought too.
I’ll be so honest, I never really wanted to be a creator on tumblr. I only did it bc they stopped letting you browse if you weren’t signed in. I never planned to post, but I did. Over time, it stopped being abt me having fun, and I started to focus with getting more likes, which I know is stupid. If something didn’t get higher than 5 notes in 3 milliseconds, I’d delete the post. Now, obviously that’s not good right? It just didn’t feel fun anymore, and I ruined it for myself, which really sucks.
I also don’t have the closest connection with Nevermore anymore. I dunno what happened. It use to be the center of my life. I would only think about, and that was fun, obviously. But the more I posted on tumblr, idk why, but I feel like I started not caring for it as much. I went from snuggling up in my couch everyday at 7:55 so I made sure I wouldn’t miss it, to, “oh, it updated? I forgot about that.” It just doesn’t give me that happiness anymore. Before tumblr, I would just write stuff down in my notes app, and look back on it later and laugh. But after tumblr, I started getting a little dryer, my poor notes are as dry as the desert. I started watering myself down, because I was worried, “oh what if they think I’m to childish, etc.” So, the fun was kinda sucked out that way.
I also think I need some away time from the app. I was growing a bit of a not so healthy addiction. It was to the point where I started thinking I was closer to my mutuals, then I was to a friend I’ve been with since 3rd grade (I love my mutuals, but that’s crazy, don’t you think?).
I definitely will not stop posting forever, but I will definitely take longgggg break. You know me, I say I’ll go on a break, then only leave for 1 day. If anything huge happens, I will DEFINITELY wake up from my slumber to talk abt it. I’ll just keep stuff in my notes app I guess.

as for your points? my GOODNESS i agree wholeheartedly. like ive stated before, i dont necessarily despise fanon error to the point of hating the fandom for making him, but i DO vastly prefer canon error over fanon. hes just... better! hes more well written, hes got so much more depth to him that people give him credit for! people really love to water him down and make him seem like he just hates everyone and everything, but, thats more a result of his mental insanity and instability. the anti-void literally corrupted him beyond saving. it messed with his mind. blackberry era error didn't hate everyone. he was just damaged, and he reached out to toriel because it felt like the only familiar and safe feeling to him at the time. he wasnt aware that he was returning to an au every time he left the anti-void, he just believed he was still part of HIS WORLD.
and when he learned he was wrong? when he realized that... nothing is as it seems? his already fragile mental state completely shattered. it's just so sad because he thought he could trust specter!toriel, he thought he had a connection, something meaningful. but the moment he needed that connection most he felt it get ripped away from him. people tend to think his anger and hatred came out of nowhere, but no, it mostly came from after the encounter in spectertale,,, as well as all the like, past hatred and stuff building up with geno sans beforehand.
but the truth is, error shows SO SO many signs that he TRULY and undeniably craves that same comfort and connection. he just can't help it. hes so lonely and traumatized by his circumstances that all of his social skills and abilities had just completely went KABOOM. he's very stunted emotionally and just like blueberry said, he NEEDS help. thats why he wants to associate with people he feels even a SMIDGE of trust with! the voices, blueberry, his puppets, i could go on and on (and i will) about how many layers there are to error, hes so fantasically written by CQ and just. gosh. i really wish people would see canon error how amazing he is <3
because like. error also pushes everyone away right? he just will never admit he needs help. but he uses his subtle methods to give off that signal that like,,, "i want you here." even if he doesnt say that!!!!! ESPECIALLY that he doesnt say that!!! error isnt all about words when it comes to affection, as seen with how he spends so much time with tori and the voices. he sacrifices so much for those he cares about but refuses to paint it as care, because realizing that is just way too much for his mind to handle, it kinda shuts down or just denies that even being a possibility. but most importantly about his puppets, i think theyre kind of like. like an ideal version of the kind of friend he'd want? someone who won't fight back with him, someone who will play around with him. sure he roleplays arguments and stuff, but i think thats just him being his dumb lil self. but i think in a way its kind of how he sees the ideal version of a friend. someone who cant hurt him. something that just kinda takes his bullshit and doesnt do anything. its like a euphemism.
and the best part is that what you said about him not actually knowing HOW to? thats COMPLETELY FUCKING TRUE like ENTIRELY its not that he doesnt want to. like i said he just. he lacks the social skills. hes so stunted. its so fucking obvious to me that he craves a certain kind of love from someone. not the lovey dovey hugging love but just someone whos not gonna hate him forever. thats whyyyy: error gets along so well with blue. because blue doesnt hate error. blue doesn't shit on him and reject him for every choice he makes. hes so patient and kind with him, even tho granted he WASSS trying to manipulate error at some point to escape, that still doesnt erase how forgiving blue is and how he genuinely wants to help him. and that right there is exactly what error needs from someone, he needs someone to care about him in that way, he just wont admit or say that but his behavior makes it clear.
AND ABOUT YOUR PAPYRUS POINT AUUUGHHHH, okay tttthis is gonna start to lean on headcanon a bit, but i genuinely think the reason error also gets along with blue at first is because of how... similar blue feels to papyrus to him. like. hes just reminded of him in a way that feels soft. if error truly hated blue and being around people he would not sit down next to him and share choccy milkshakes and teach him everything. my point is that, and again, leaning on hc, i think that error has some of that core code of his attachment to papyrus still active. thats why he specifically takes blueberry, because hes most like paps in that universe and he cant help but still feel an attachment. this would ALSO explain error's affinity for outertale/stars, the fact he literally cannot bear to hurt any papyrus and usually never even sees most papyruses in aus, his sense of humor (puns and teasing), and his fighting style. granted error is still pretty far away from sans in terms of character because i mean. maniac multiversal murderer here but. yeah thats how i see it. because i think something deep inside him couldnt let go of the things that stuck most to him and all of those ARE part of his central personality in og undertale. so.
