How many of you do candle magic? I do it constantly. Color is important but if you don't have the right color candle handy a white one will always work. Just be sure to put your intentions into it as you dress it. I typically dress my candles by engraving intentions on the side (or top if it's a glass candle). For example if I am lighting a candle for a friend who is trying for a new job I would select a yellow candle (or green) and I would write the friends name, success, confidence, and any other words that come to mind at the moment. Then I would find my favorite oil (that I have charged under the full moon) and rub it along the candle away from me. If the candle spell was for me I'd rub it towards me. I'd ask my guides, angels, ancesotrs (whoever you pray to) to hear my words, thank them for listening, and meditate over the candle for a bit. Depending on how elaborate I feel I can also add cinnamon (to expidite), glitter (money), or any of the flowers, herbs and spices I have on my alter. If a glass candle I also add crystals. There are no rules here. Do what feels right at the time. It's ALL about your intention. Light the candle in a safe place and do your best to let it burn completely in one sitting. If you have to put it out - snuff it - don't blow - and when you relight focus all of your intentions again. Candle magic is fun!
