How to Survive and Thrive during Mercury Retrograde
We are coming to the beginning of of the shadow period of this most recent Mercury Retrograde of fall 2021. How did you fare with the typical mixups, miscommunication, breakdowns, paperwork, documentation problems and so on? Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp all going down for 6 hours - and the subsequent confusion - was very reflective of Mercury Retrograde events! lol While a lot of these things can happen during a Mercury Retrograde, there are a lot of general fears, anxieties and misconceptions about the nature and potential of this astrological phenomenon. The way you experience a Mercury Retrograde is based on YOUR conscious awareness and how you APPLY yourself to the changing Mercury energy. Leave early and give yourself extra time between appointments, errands and events. Along with mindfulness, be open-minded and try novel problem-solving approaches. Something that seems problematic can often be resolved by a change in perspective or a different technique. It helps during a Mercury Retrograde to be more aware of potential mistakes and miscommunications and little extra concentration can easily prevent or correct mishaps.
Last but most importantly, understand that Mercury Retrograde is an opportunity for growth! Mercury Retrograde is an EXCELLENT time to reevaluate and rethink many of your projects, work habits, day-to-day communications and how you think about things generally. This is a great time to change you schedule or routines - get up earlier; try changing your meditation practice to a different time; do your grocery shopping differently; change your diet and eating habits. Try a new filing system or a new app. In a word, allow yourself to “shift gears” and appreciate the change and the opportunity to see things in a new light. This “re-thinking” energy works with small things as well as larger career and professional projects.
