The hooks represent log drivers and the importance of forestry in thr area. There are three to represent the three import rivers of the area: Glomma, Flisa, and Kynna.

Øye stavkyrkje, Vang, 1984.

Although in the style of the ancient stave church which served Vang, this building was constructed in the 1960s on a slightly different site using some materials salvaged from the older church dating from the 12th century, one which was in very poor condition on a site prone to flooding.
