'Wiggles'
[PC] [POLAND] [MAGAZINE] [2001]
"This game is being developed by Innonics, a German company that is relatively obscure—at least in our market (though, considering it boasts three separate studios—in Hanover, Hamburg, and Berlin—it is by no means a small outfit). Previously, these developers worked on Thandor: The Invasion and also created an expansion pack for Jagged Alliance 2. The concept behind Wiggles draws inspiration from the works of the renowned fantasy author, Terry Pratchett. The titular "Wiggles" are gnome-like creatures that the game places under your command. The objective of the game is to gain control over the hellhound, Fenrir. To achieve this, you must locate four magical rings hidden deep within underground dungeons. Wiggles is a hybrid of action-adventure and strategy genres. While some quests do involve arcade-style challenges, simply to be able to undertake a task, you must first ensure the prosperity of the entire Wiggles clan—making sure the gnomes have work to do, places to relax, and food to eat. This is no easy feat, as they are exceptionally unruly creatures. Much like in The Settlers, you will be constructing pathways, taverns, and temples. Players can choose from five distinct clans, each with its own unique characteristics, and tackle 24 varied missions set in diverse environments (including jungles and frozen, ice-bound lands). A multiplayer mode is also planned. Wiggles is expected to feature a highly realistic 3D engine." ~Piotr "Frogger" Moskal, Secret Service (April 2001, #89) [BMT🤖]
