Warning: Cursing, maybe slight angst if you read between the lines
Summary: Having a shitty electricity company means your power going out at any convenience, but Ino is there to make it better.
You knew it was going to happen. The electricity in this town seems to be held together by hopes and dreams at this point. Every time a storm rolls in, it's normal to lose power until it calms down. You weren't surprised that the first snow storm of the season and the power didn't even last an hour past the first snowfall.
You laid on your bed, staring into the dark void above you, trying to plan out how you were going to survive this winter storm with no power. It would probably be best to grab all the candles and blankets in the apartment.
A high pitch scream cut you out of your reverie and caused you to jump out of your bed. You quickly jogged to your door and swung it open to your pitch black apartment.
Shuffling on the other side of the apartment caused your eyes to drift left to the door you knew to reside in the darkness. Almost on cue, you heard it slam open.
“I didn't save my Sims!” You listened as your roommate, Ino Takuma, quickly shuffled over to you. You couldn't help the small laugh that came out of your mouth. “You're laughing and I've lost 3 people that were like my children.”
He finally appeared in front of you. Your eyes adjusted in the darkness to see Ino’s slightly pink cheeks from running around. His hair was extremely messy as he typically had it on the weekend. A baggy grey sweater covered his body with a pair of pink hello kitty pajama pants.
To summarize, a man is ready to enjoy his weekend with his Sims family, but instead forced to play survival in the real world.
“I'm sorry for laughing, but I think there may be bigger issues,” you said, pointing to the bay window where it showed the raging snow storm outside. “This storm isn't supposed to let up until early morning and it's currently in the negatives.”
He looked at where you were pointing and you could see the gears slowly starting to turn. The snow was already coating the corners of the window making an almost perfect winter frame. It made the situation seem less dire.
“Do you think we're going to freeze to death,” he whispered, turning to look at you. The electricity has been out for a moment now and you could feel the temperature already starting to plummet.
“As long as we're smart, we'll be fine. Just need to huddle down somewhere small to conserve heat. Then we need to probably get some light source, maybe some candles. Also, need to see what food that we can eat for tonight that doesn't require to be warmed up,” you rambled off. Your brain was trying to think of every possible issue that may arise.
“Sooooooo,” you stopped rambling to look at Ino. A giant smile was on his face as he stared down at you. “Sleepover!”
30 minutes later and you couldn't help the sigh that came from you. The two of you were shoved in Ino’s tiny closest sitting shoulder to shoulder. Every pillow was under you two and every blanket was on top. You two opted out of the candles in fear of setting Ino’s clothes on fire, but instead used fake candle tea lights that Ino randomly had.
“Say ahhh.” A strawberry on a fork was brought to your lips. You kept them closed as you just blankly stared at Ino who was smiling so hard that his dimples were showing.
“First off, I'm grown, Ino. No point in trying to feed me. Second off, we're trying to not freeze and you're treating this like it's some date,” you joked out. Ino froze and the strawberry was slowly dropping to the plate of fruit that he made.
A forced laugh came from him as his smile started to wobble. His eyes began to look around in the dimly lit closet. “Yeah, sorry.”
His hand came over his face as he turned away from you. In the dim light, you could still see the redness burning up his ear. The skin underneath his hand had started to turn red also.
It was then that you truly took in the scenario. The way the pillow was thickest on your side with the red heart pillows sitting behind your back. The way he meticulously cut up all the fruit, even when you insist that he just grabbed some granola bars for the two of you. The way he actually owned tea lights and took the time to stick them to the wall.
For you, this moment was just necessary survival, but did Ino do all of this to impress you. Did he want to consider this a date?
You eyes flickered back over to Ino to see him still looking away from you in what you assumed was embarrassment.
Oh.
“Well, I mean, this would make a very cute date idea, minus the freezing temperature outside this closet,” you hurriedly grumbled. You could feel heat start to crawl up your neck in your attempt to salvage whatever this was.
“No-no. You're right. This would be weird to do… as a… you know.” His hands awkwardly flailed around in the tiny space. You couldn't help but slightly laugh at growing awkwardness. “Probably would want more.”
You let out a low hum as you thought it through. You shifted your weight to lean your head onto Ino’s broad shoulder. His body heat was rolling off of him in thick waves that only caused you to snuggle closer to him. “For me, this would be enough.”
You reached down to grab a purple grape with your finger. With slow movements, you brought the grape up to Ino’s lip. His pink plush lips parted allowed the grape to enter in.
His eyes widened in shock at the statement and you feeding him. It seemed he gave up covering his blush as his face had a pink twinge to it now. He slowly chewed the grape and stared into your eyes.
“Would this be enough for you?” You whispered slowly to him, almost too quiet that you couldn't even count it as a whisper.
You watched as Ino quickly chewed his grape and swallowed it. However, he must have not did it properly as he instantly start aggressively coughing away from you.
He held up a single finger as he coughed into his elbow. He stopped for a second, turned to you with watery eyes to nod swiftly, before going back to coughing.
This got you to laugh at his antics. Your hands went to his back to pat his back to get him to breathe. Maybe you shouldn't have asked him a question while he was eating.
“Oh gosh, I thought I was going to die for a second,” he gasped out. He let out one last cough before sucking in air. He speedily turned his body towards you, causing you to lean off of him. “Anything dealing with you is enough. We could be staring at paint dry and I would be happy.”
You couldn't help smiling at that. You lean back onto him and this time wrapped your arms around his waist. Your fingers ran across his muscular build underneath his hoodie.
“Well, then I guess this is a date?” The question sat in the air for a moment before you felt Ino nod. His hand slid around you and pulled you closer to him.
He let go of your with one arm before reaching down to grab at a strawberry. He hesitantly brought it back towards you again. This time, you happily accepted it.
“Well, since we have a lot of time until morning.” Ino began to wiggle a bit before his phone was placed between you two. “I do have a few Minecraft civilizations downloaded for us to watch.”
“Wow, dinner and entertainment. You spoil me, Ino,” you tease. A low laugh came from his chest and you loved how you could feel the vibrations travel through him.
“For you, only the best.” He leaned over and pressed a kiss onto your forehead. With a few swipes and clicks, a random video was being played. His hand returned around your waist as he readjusted himself to be close to you again.
The music played, filling the space with a calming noise. The warmth between the two of you made it so extremely comfy and being in Ino’s arm made it perfect.
The perfect first date and it's all thanks to the shitty electricity.
