I started kingkiller and it’s not /bad/… but it’s definitely a case of the protag being Super Great at Everything so I sort of lost steam on it.
...I was starting to suspect as much.
Plus I’m 22 chapters in and the only notable female character was the protagonist’s mom and she’s dead now.
Yeah....I don’t think I’ll be picking up the second book...back to the drawing board I guess lmao.

7. A game you'll never forget?
Ha, too many to list here. FFVII is the first game I really sank a ton of hours into and would beat again and again. Pretty much any BW game I’ve played has had moments and characters that will leave a lasting impression. Exploring in Bethesda games reaches me on a visceral level and Morrowind was huge in shaping my own creative headspace. I guess if I had to list one, DA2? Not only did it have a huge emotional impact on me, it brought me into an online fandom that introduced me to a ton of people that I consider some of my dearest friends. It’s continued to have a ripple effect, where I meet more lovely people through those people. All of it, in the end, circles back to DA.
18. A game you wish your friends knew about?
Oh gosh, I can’t think of anything I play that other people wouldn’t know about. I mean, I wish I could play Overwatch and SWTOR with everyone I know bc I have by far the most fun playing those with friends. I guess some of the games from my youth, just because I still reference them to this day, like Jet Set Radio, the Seaman game (please don’t let this trigger bots >_>), or Parappa the Rapper.
My first DnD character was a half elf ranger. I managed to roll REALLY bad charisma and intelligence stats for him so over the campaign he evolved into this almost berserker/ranger combo with a pet dire badger and a very big crossbow.

I really am crossing my fingers for a ‘dwarfy’ dwarf since almost all the dwarves we see are written to hate dwarven culture/basically short humans
I mean they’ve done it before, and we got a taste in The Descent. It’s just...we’ve just...had an extended love affair with Varric, and now it has to end.
But yeah, he’s not very “dwarfy”, which is...perplexing, because I wonder if that’s a factor in his popularity.
I honestly can’t even bring myself to dislike Bianca as much as everyone else does. The whole kalnas thing is fascinating.

There is some online DnD matchup thing I’ve seen linked on blogs from time to time. Basically lets you search for online groups and see if they’re a good match. It was called Roll20 or something, can’t remember
That could have been an option, but it has the same problem as I mentioned to villnis about how I still need some flexibility bc of my illness, and I don’t feel too comfortable forcing that on strangers (or finding strangers willing to put up with it over time)

lmao that’s pretty much my quest log atm as well, with some exceptions
but! at least for the most part i actually enjoy a lot of these side quests. unlike in da:i where i’ll just skip everything in new playthroughs <_<
EVERYTHING HAPPENS SO MUCH
But yes I agree, I’m enjoying these sidequests a lot more than in DA:I! I feel like they’ve at least tried to be a little more creative even if they’re often simple fetch/place item/kill quests, and having the Mako Nomad makes everything go a lot faster
