We SMG4 fans knew that day… Everything changed for the show that day… But, Ink… I must ask… What are your personal thoughts on IGBP? Do you like it?Was it funny like most SMG4 movies? Do you agree with the message of the film? Do you understand the struggles of being a content creator with a big audience like SMG4? 😔

*looks at goop!4 and igbp ramblings, and back to the ask* I guess you can say I like IGBP, yeah ^^
ADHKLJ;JK nah but fr. IGBP has a special place in my heart, one of my all time faves. It maintained the usual humor SMG4 has but it was also clear that Luke and the Team were going to talk about serious stuff. It's much more than a content creator struggling to satisfy his in-universe audience; as I said, no matter how outlandish it may seem, all stories are grounded in some way in. reality. This was the movie that connected with people struggling with perfectionism, those who were labeled "the gifted child", those wanting to be enough for their friends and family. And, simply, the people overwhelmed by established expectations.
This was a movie I connected with.
Perfectionism is something I had to deal with, it was a lot worse back then. SMG4 helped me through take my mind off things over the years, a joke and a laugh was enough to light my day. But then, the movie came along. It was obviously heart-breaking to see one of my favorite characters struggling with it, well aware how the state of the show and its audience was at the time, but I also felt seen. How I wasn't the only one struggling with it, and how there was hope for the better. There's always another way, and help will be there for those who accept it.
For previous arcs, the Crew usually goes on to fight the antagonist, epic battle and everything, but also trying to save their friends if they happen to be in the crossfire. But 4 being the antagonist and the friend they're trying to save? Now that's interesting. Y'know at the start of the movie, the rescuing trio thought 4 is just obsessed on this perfect video for his channel, "go touch grass" or "let's just leave him alone". But, as they later figure out, what 4 really needed was empathy and understanding. No fighting, no epic battle. It was this that saved 4 (and frankly all of them), and wouldn't y'know it? 3 was the one who saved him, not only once but twice. We were able to see his character development over the years, but this was a big step for him. And then the "we're friends" scene, it was 4's turn to save 3. But also let's not forget about Mario and Meggy, 4's closest friends, concerned for his well-being.

Anyway, back to the OG message bc I might end up recite the whole movie scene-by-scene smh /lh. Like I said, it was something that needed to be talked about, especially for Luke and the Team. Right or wrong or whatever it may be, it's the most honest thing to do. While not everyone might not get it, some will, and that's what counts.
So, as the movie said: you're doing great, you're enough, and you're loved 💙
