also, I wanted to ask: in your opinion, would have Tate used violence towards Vivien to have sex with her, without the rubber man suit?

hm, i hadn't thought of that before... it's hard to know because i'm still unsure about his motivation to rape her in the first place...like i know it was really important for the plot, but i never really thought it was made clear as to WHY he would do it in the first place, unless i'm just forgetting something, which is entirely possible.

i guess for simplicity's sake the writers of the show were just going to attribute it to the fact that he's a psychopath or something, and he just hurts people without reason and without caring.

but i still think that's laziness on the writers' part because i don't actually think he was a psychopath at all, just a depressed teenager on drugs. idk i can't really say because the rape only made sense to me because it pushed the plot forward but as far as i remember (i haven't watched murder house in a while) that was all it was, so yes, in order for the show to be what it was he would have had to rape her anyway, and if he didn't have the rubber suit to use as a crutch, he probably would have done it violently
