I prefer the manga =w= Don’t know why but the last two animes I tried to watch based on manga (D.Gray-Man and SGT. Frog), the anime were just bleh in comparison 8I

I want to get into the manga, but I also know it’s really long hence why haven’t yet (I don’t like hanging on those websites too long since they usually have a lot of hidden viruses in the ads). I will admit the first anime did drag during some plots, but when it gets to the Fallen Angel bit (I think that’s what’s it’s called, it’s been a while) it really picks up and there’s some characterization. Plus it introduces a lot of side characters so if you don’t like the main cast, you have those.
