How would Bots have tattoos in the world of Inscryption?

Like yeah decals exist, but would they be seen on bots the way tattoos are on humans? Would 100% be behind that idea

I could totally see Dredger and Melter having permanent decals. G0lly might like the look of decals, but want to swap them out too frequently to have permanent decals, so she just has a vast collection of temp decals and constantly get more. I think Inspector would think decals are pointless but also not care about them. P03 might constantly be trying to talk G0lly out of buying another 20 decals when she only used 4 of the ones she already had.

Or piercings? That I need to think on more

I really like interpretations of Magnificus' students before he did the shit he did so I whipped up my own! These are very head-canon heavy and probably go against some sorta lore so take alla this whith a pinch of salt.

I have in-dept explanations under the cut :>

The Belothed Dress-Code

I like to think Magnificus has a bit of a dress code for his students. He wouldn't be too strict but the main theme is typical hat robe boot combo and everything being oversized. Opinions on this code varies between students.

Sapphire Mage

Known as The Lonely Wizard in-game, I like to think that they are the most focused and grounded out of the students. I've writen the student's old personalities based off of their trial, so I decided Sapphire would be the busiest of the three- always up to something, whether training magic, finding a new hobby or finding someone to bother. Sapphire is the student who was trained by Magnificus the longest, so he is the closest to him as well as being the student who excels in card magic the most. The other two turn to them for advice. Think of them as the older sibling type.

For their design they change the least from their canon design. They're the only one to keep their robes long, only adding gloves and dangly moxes to their hat to fiddle with. I wanted them to look the 'neatest' out of the three.

Ruby Mage/ Amber

Known as The Piked Wizard in-game, I like to think she's the strongest physically as well as the most social with the other scrybes and their residents. Amber is the most exciteable and bold of the three pre-trial. She started her training just before Goobert, and because of that is a little closer to him then she is to Sapphire.

For Amber's design I wanted her to challenge the dress code the most out of the three, keeping her sleeves short and ripping off the trail of her robes (she tripped one too many times). I added the most accessories to her, including a chestplate, knee/elbow pads and laced boots. I gave her shorter hair as well. She is the tallest of the three. (I designed her before I learned Lonely is canonically 7'0+, and I'm not sure what to with that information.)

Emerald Mage

Known as Goobert or The Goo Mage in-game, I like to think he's the least experienced of the three in magic. There isn't a lot to say here, as he acts the most like his canon personality.

Emerald was a tough character to design. I latched onto how Goobert spesifies he was 'turned into goo' for his trial and I haven't seen any non-goo designs for him yet. @lego-block-man helped a LOT by suggesting a wyrven for his deisgn (though I settled on a dragon because i'm not creative enough BEFWBJEAVNF). I'm still a little uneasy about this design straying so far from canon but I still love it none the less. I wanted his interests in creative hobbies to show in his design, so I gave him a self-tailored hem for their robes as well as their sleves being pinned up and out of the way. He also wears velcro boots.

-Headcanon AU is literally just Inscryption but with my dumb headcanons. I tend to refer to all of my headcanon AUs across fixations of mine by Chaos AU usually

(Chaos!P03) ^

-OCxInscryption is an AU where the Scrybes (and even side-characters) are designed with the lore and rules of my own OC-Universe in mind. P03 being a white, fat, anthropomorphic stoat who is actually a robot even though it isn’t obvious. I will be referring to that version of him as Poe

-Both still are the Scrybe of Technology

(Headcanon AU / Chaos AU)

(P03)

-Yeah, his monitor screen a little screwed up but he does not give a shit

-He can rest without a charger but it’ll take about 8-10 hours for him to be fully charged. With his chargers or recharge stations, it only takes as long as it takes a phone or tablet to charge

-Has a factory infirmary in case of damage or virus infection, having special USB-like syringes filled with anti-virus in them to take care of the job

-P03, despite being able to connect to the internet, is not at all aware or accustomed to modern Internet culture or memes

-Lost his left arm in a traumatic accident. At least he’s ambidextrous?

-Does not care about holidays. Bro has no joy or whimsy 😭 (yes, this also includes his birthday that he mostly forgot existed)

-Occasionally overworks himself but otherwise, he does not give a damn. He’s bad at noticing it too 😭

-Hates classical music (as in Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, etc.). He likes chiptune and more chill electronic genres

-He’s surprisingly waterproof

(OCxInscryption AU)

(P03/Poe)

-Has massive insecurities about his body. He would be jealous of his canon-counterpart just for his appearance alone

-His voice has no robotic or synth-like filters

-Lost his left arm to an accident he has since pushed into his subconscious. Also, technically does not have feet despite his rocket boots giving the illusion that he does

-His rocket boots are heavy and take great strength to remove. He is able to float around without them, the boots just make travel a bit quicker

-He’a able to make holograms of himself at will as well as run diagnostics on himself at will if he were to get infected with a virus

-Unlike Canon!P03, Poe is very distrusting of others to a paranoia level due to how the other Scrybes and even his original creators had treated him in the past

-Overworks himself to the point of missing days of sleep

-May have a robot version of autism? I dunno, I accidentally imagined him to be very autism coded when I daydream of him

-His left eye twitches sometimes. Either when he’s annoyed or stressed out usually. Sometimes it just does that 😭

-Owns a Peepy and Sucklet from Itemlabel

-Calls his robot workers by Greek Letters (minus Alpha). Inspector being Beta, Melter being Gamma and Dredger being Delta (may add more as OCs, I dunno)

-Has a few social media accounts but rarely uses them…especially after he got into a bad argument on Twitter 😭

-Gets therapy from Gaia (therapist OC in series)

-Has told himself numerous times that the other Scrybes hate him. He has no idea if he actually hates them or not or if he’s just really hurt by the past

-Bisexual

-His birthday is in December but before winter, making him a Sagittarius (I might change this to Inscryption’s release date 😭; we’ll see what I’m feeling later, lol)

-Favorite Color: Blue, Cyan, Green

-Favorite Holiday: Halloween (thanks to Akira and Lux mainly)

-Favorite Piece of Technology: Too many to list. He will autism ramble about technology if you let him

-Favorite Show/Movie: Literally anything that he’s fixated on aside from his work (does not care if it’s animated or live action, as long as he likes it)

-Favorite Game: Again, just like show/movie, anything he finds interesting

-Favorite Music Genre: Chiptune, Trance, House, Electronica

The Graduating Class Of [XXX]

Wilbert Phlegm (5'5 ft), Inkwell Bubbles (4'8 ft), and Amber Phalanx (6'5 ft)

Each are bestowed three mox crystals upon their clothes or as accessories, alongside the fourth that tips their hats.

For Wilbert, one points each of the ends of his cardigan (third not pictured, as the third point is the back).

For Inky, one sits around his throat as the connector for his cape, and the other two hang from a wrap around their tail.

For Amber, two are earrings, and the third tips the butt of her spear.

Some other notes for my interpretations of the three mages:

Amber has metal bones, and she has pieces of armor that rise above her skin (that are also part of her skeleton). Such as her visor. She has shin and arm guards, and as consequence for her metal bones, she is very inflexible. The cartilage in her body is also mildly affected, making her joints stiff.

Inky uses they/he

Inky is also a member of my original species, the kimblie, and has a mark on his forehead (three black bubbles) but because it's black on black, it blends in.

Wilbert's hair is naturally green. In opposite to Amber, he's hyperflexible and has some issues with joints popping out of their sockets.

Inky is kind of the mid-point in flexibility, but also the only one that does anything with it. They're a menace that can crawl into many spaces and a bit of an escape artist.

Each has a focus on an 'element' alongside with magic that intersects with their interests.

Wilbert has earth, Inky has water, Amber has fire.

Wilbert can pull the concept of colors out of things and swap them around, or mix em together, but can't make new ones. He's an avid artist.

His hair might be green because he put green in it or maybe he was born like that. You'll never know.

Amber has a combat focus, and can create physical planes using fire and other plasma. It's kinda trippy.

Inky however-- water IS their interest, and as such can do the most creative things with their magic. Turns into water, can teleport between puddles, can breathe in water, can--

I've essentially converted them into a new file format (into my original universe whoopsies) rather than kept them as Inscryption characters... But hey. It's fun and I'm playing with dolls.

i like exploring P03’s gender under the lens of xenobiology

like while my basic headcanon is just that dude is nonbinary, here are some possible expansions on that idea from least to most weird:

-he maintains a concurrent nongendered object identity in addition to identifying as male because he conceptualizes himself as both a person and a machine. this dual identity could be common for robots, or he could be an older robot who was one of the first to gain sentience, so he still feels attached to his old identity as an inanimate object

-the other Scrybes don’t know him as closely as some of his factory workers, and for robots gendered pronouns are used on a familiarity basis. if they used to co-exist peacefully, they may have used male pronouns for him previously and are now reverting to unfamiliar neutral pronouns to display their withdrawal of alliance.

-the Scrybes aren’t related to him. they don’t originate from the factory, where most of his employees view him not only as a leader but as a paternal figure, less like a mammalian father and more like the queen of an insect colony or the mother plant in a grove. P03 obviously isn’t the most touchy-feely person, so he views it as inappropriate for his colleagues to refer to him in gendered terms. to him, that’s like calling a woman a “womb-bearer”, just gross and totally uncalled for.

P03 is the only Scrybe that actually uses currency known as Robobucks as compensation. Because of this, this currency can only be used in Botopia and doesn't hold any value anywhere else

Literally every other Scrybes uses a fucking barter system. So they see this digital money and go "What fucking use do I have for this??"

It was only after Luke became a Scrybe of Treasure that gold was introduced as a form of official currency and that's mainly because gold is an important game mechanic. Otherwise, playing cards are still the top reigning form of currency

i’ve only got two and i’ve shared them before BUT.

- if he could eat, he loves sour candy. warheads are like grapes to him. however, on the contrary, he canNOT handle spice. he has One (1) taki and he needs at Least 10 minutes to recover

- he loves video essays. he’s nearly completely unresponsive when watching one, but the Moment he’s done, he parrots whatever he learned to the nearest person, especially if it’s someone he likes being around
