What beast modes would the Maximals have if they didn’t scan mammal/bird type aninimals?

While uncommon, it is not unheard of for Maximals to adopt non-mammalian beast modes, most notably the Insectrons and Jointrons. During the Spark War against Megatron's Vehicons, Maximals caught up in the conflict included a number of diverse alternate forms, including T-Wrecks the tyrannosaurus and the repentant Predacon Buzzsaw, who'd thrown his lot in with the Maximals after the Oracle reformatted him into a technorganic form.

Dear Vector Prime, are there any notable Maximals who transform into a housefly?

You may be thinking of the Insectron, Fly Boy. He was a young and eager to please Maximal, barely older than his teammate Scissor Boy.

Impressionable and fawning, Fly Boy looked up to the other Insectrons, agreeing with whatever they suggested or asked him to do, hanging around in an attempt to gain their praise. When the Insectrons have been pressed to defend themselves, Fly Boy's used his incredible speed to avoid danger, often being known to boast to the Autorollers "This fly is fast!"... a pun that I'm not sure works when translated into English.

A rough guide to scale when it comes to the standard sized ‘bots of BNW (effectively represented here by Scissor Boy), Grimlock, and Sky Lynx. Ol’ Lynxy here is big enough to carry most modern Cybertronians inside his vehicle mode. Grimlock is too big to fit inside him, alas, but he can definitely ride on either component.

I’m sure that tidbit of information is completely irrelevant.
