That post reminds me about one of my favorite bugs: wasps

I know everyone's first thought is "they're so aggressive and don't even do anything!" but that couldn't be further from the truth

One, they're protecting their hive. They're not evil or spiteful they're bugs, they don't have a concept of your private property, sorry.

Two, they really don't want to sting you! I completely understand a fear of wasps, especially if you've been stung before (I have, many times) but like any other animal that harms you 9 times out of 10 it's defending itself (you're huge to a wasp!) and 0 times out of 10 is it stinging you out of spite

They ARE an important part of their ecosystem; nothing on earth evolved to do nothing. They're predator insects, and are one of farmer's most efficient natural insecticides. They eat tons of insects detrimental to crop growth that spiders won't.

Spray your house for wasps preemptively if you can. If there's already a sizeable hive somewhere people frequent, call a professional to relocate it.
