PAX Unplugged Day 2
There was no screwing around today: we did exactly two things. First, we bought stuff. The Expo Hall is absolutely insane. The number of people selling and demoing their games was amazing. We didn't stop anywhere to play - just walked through, buying games. Burning Wheel, InSpectres, Weave, a few other things.
Then we just straight up sat in the RPG Dungeon hall in line for Indie Games On Demand all day long. When we were done with one thing, we'd get in line for another. We played InSpectres with some friends we made in our Monster Hearts game, then played The Whispering Road with its creator. (It's a Ghibli game in the most true and lovely way.) Then some GM's had backed out last minute for the 10pm slot, so Miki ran The Quiet Year for some people, which was excellent.
This is still the most fun I've ever had doing anything, and when I have two brain cells to rub together I'll probably want to talk about why. And also write up these games. Jesus, they've been good.
Here are some characters I’ve been working on for an original story of mine called InSpectres, which revolves around teens working alongside spirits, or Spectres, to solve mysteries and capture malevolent spirits, called Wraiths. When Spectres and humans work hand in hand, they can unleash these cool psychic abilities. For instance, the first character, Elijah Thompson, is partnered up with the spirits of a bandit from the old west named Dallas Texas. When they team up, Elijah can summon this massive ghostly arm cannon. I’ll probably post some more InSpectres stuff in the future, but yeah, I’m pretty happy with these designs so far!

I need to get a game of InSpectres going, because if I understand things right, it'll be kind of like Noirlandia
Which is to say they both start off with a loosely generated inciting event (draw 3 cards for a murder vs roll some d6s for a haunting), and then the players improv for a bit, and if they roll well, whatever they say IS progress towards the solution
InSpectres should probably have more silly and less string, though
