𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | Last year I had one of the best meals of 2019 at @kitchenatholmes when I attended their Aged & Smoked event. So when I had the chance to visit again I said yes before I could even finish my first breath. Everything about this place is top quality; the food, the cocktails, the decor, the service, especially from my old pal Fabio. Every cocktail has a story, or is presented in a quirky way, or is unlike anything I’ve tried before. K T Time, which is a gin, plum bitters, and cranberry & lime juice cocktail is presented in a teapot, and the Case Closed is a diplomatico rum with chocolate liquor, frangelico, Mozart black, and popcorn syrup, served with a small portion of popcorn to emphasise the sweetness. The courgette spaghetti is still one of the best “pasta” dishes I’ve had, and there’s no way you can come here and not get the 1kg cote de boeuf. Other must-have dishes are the beef carpaccio, jamon croquettes, and aubergine tempura.
