Jodhpur: View into the Phool Mahal (»Flower Palace«) of the Mehrangarh Fort of the Maharajas of Marwar. The marvelous 18th century hall was built during the reign of Maharaja Abhay Singh (1724 - 1749). The chamber served as the Diwan-i-Khas (»Hall of Private Audience«). Word is that this was not the only purpose of this state room. The ceiling is made of gold filigree and mirror glass. Many of the 19th century wall paintings depict portraits of members of the royal family.
