A postgame headcanon

Nemona isn't the only one who hates that everyone in the school prefers "School Battle Brawl" to her "Academy Ace Tournament" title. Saguaro and Tyme agreed her title was better, although their negative feelings towards the "popular" name vary in intensity. Saguaro outright thinks it's vapid and probably is more passionate about his disdain than even Nemona herself is, while Tyme just thinks it's uninspired and has a preference.

They are the literal only two academy faculty members who think this, as the rest either actively use "School Battle Brawl", don't mind it, or are indifferent.

Eventually the mob has spoken, and the name is officially changed to the "School Battle Brawl" at the start of the next school term. Larry has to listen to Saguaro rant about how disappointed he is in Arven for his actions the evening after that faculty meeting, despite his own negative feelings about the tournament period. (He just dreads the day he'll be strong-armed into participating himself.) He inadvertently talks his husband out of not participating in protest, being left confused as to how Saguaro got the opposite of his intentions in the first place.

this is me having some clavell backstory thoughts that i will never find space to put in my fics

but ryme, tyme and clavell are all besties

i think clavell grew up besties with ryme first, they're both the same age and they were both punk teens trying (and failing) to be cool. not that tyme wasn't there or wasn't nice to them, but also she had that Cool Older Sister vibe that clavell was too intimidated by to approach her properly. also she and ryme were at that teen stage where they both drove each other up the wall if in the same space for more than ten minutes.

the way clavell and tyme get close is through their partners. i hc long before the ingame events occur, clavell and tyme were dating to a set of brothers, tyme married one, and clavell was in a longterm relationship with the other (not married due to 90's paldean homophobia, i have Entire Headcanons about this)

but both brothers eventually died of long term illnesses, and it was through nursing their partners and consoling each other through the grief where tyme and clavell really bonded together, helping each other out and being a shoulder to lean on when care work and grief became overwhelming. like, ryme and clavell have years of memories together, but tyme and clavell went through hell and back side by side and are completely ride or die for the other
