Daily Instrument — Pipa

The pipa is a Chinese lute instrument, performed in Chinese operas and other places. The Japanese biwa, Korean bipa and Vietnamese đàn tỳ bà are all derived from the Pipa. The pipa has a pear shaped body, a short neck and four (traditionally) silk strings played by plucking. It also has 6 frets on the neck and 23 or 25 frets on the body.

Instructor infront of whole band: Don’t be so nervous horns, this is your main part play louder! I DARE you to play too loud.

Horns who were all trumpet players at one point: *look at eachother and play way too loud*

I’m helping out a kiddo in strings class and this other kid is just swinging his viola round and I’ve never played an instrument, but I’m pretty sure that’s frowned upon...
