Dinner at Deuxave! While attending #inta2019 in Boston, I had dinner with a dear Barbaresco-loving friend. We chose the 2015 Produttori del Barbaresco at the same time as our water choice (older vintages were not available) and immediately started decanting it. While waiting, we enjoyed a half bottle of Laurent Perrier Champagne, which went incredibly well with the tasty lobster gnocchi! Like Chateau Musar, Produttori is often a great choice for business meals due to the excellent quality for the price. While very young, the 15 Produttori did not disappoint - beguiling aromatics of cherry, roses, tobacco, spice box exploded from the glass. Even with a long decant, the tannins were prominent, but balanced by explosive red fruit and abundant acidity.
