"I got just a few items here on the agenda we needs sortin' out. Should hardly take much of your time at all..."

"Do ya wish you could be shorter or taller? I'm just an inch shy of 7-feet-round, 'n that one number off bothers the hell outta me, y'know?"

i read through your whole book, again, even though i said i wasn't going to, because it felt physically AWFUL to read, listening, obviously, i guess, to a shepard tone (that IS your favorite song, right?) and i don't know why i did that, i thought. i thought when you severed the connection that it was over! i thought it was done! and i don't think it is, honestly, and i don't know why i'm doing all these things. i suppose i should roll with the punches, though, or something-- try to make the best of a bad situation-- so can i get a concise list of pros and cons for making some sort of deal with you? note: i don't consider any volume of blood a con. i'll scratch your image into some sort of public property if that helps.

It takes the woman a moment to notice that you've entered the room at all. Even after she looks up, the long quiet is... uncomfortable.

She... writes something down.

"I'm Dr. Magdelene Faye, your Isomnis department representative. Yes, we'll be working together for the forseeable future. No, you don't have to pretend to like me. Let's begin the onboarding process."

"Your favorite song. Yes, I'm serious. Don't make me choose for you."

"At what time do you go to sleep? And, at what time do you wake up?"

"I'll let you ask one question-- any question." Though, she never says she'll answer it.

A woman visibly measures you with an up-and-down glance the moment you enter the room. Perched on the desk, legs crossed, she smiles thinly at you. Or maybe that's just how her face happens to sit.

"No need to be shy, love. I don't bite. I'm Rita, your department representative."

She leans in, voice dropping to a conspiratory stage-whisper.

"And honestly...? Out of everyone here, I probably have the least idea of what's going on. Hope you can fill me in, hm? Let's start with you."

"What's your favorite song? I work best to a bit of MSI, myself."

"How do you feel about your assigned occupation? It's not a bad thing to keep a career path in mind."

"If we only let you pack one personal belonging, what would it be? I rarely leave home without my favorite pen. Everything else, I can do without."
