I don't know the entire speech or situation but that quote, out of context, is just him saying that he wants every kind of love to be normal. The main point is no one's opinion should be discredited on the sole basis of their skin color, gender, or sexual orientation. Because when you have to make a new word for it, it's no longer the norm and people will always be adverse to change. History has shown, time and time again, that people hate change. He wants to raise his kids with the ideal that all love is normal - not just a man and woman - and no one should be ashamed or afraid to be who they are. And while it's not the ideal end result, While it's not the right terms, or even the right person, It's a fuckin start on the right path.
