Oh! And um, if it's of interest to anyone, I was thinking about the idea of Yuno joining the Black Bulls and making my own version of it where it goes more into the reason of WHY he'd join them; namely for the praise of his grimoire.
Like, he's praised and revered just for his grimoire; before he got it, he was just Yuno, a wind magic user in Hage. And then he gets it, and all of a sudden he's just the boy with the four leaf grimoire. And joining one of the bigger-or the biggest-guilds would only point that out; he's amazing at magic. People will respect him just for that.
But joining the lowest guild...maybe will put that out of their minds.
And yes, he wants to be the best, beat Asta, become the Wizard King. Yes, joining one of the best guilds would certainly help with that, and him joining Golden Dawn in canon was important for the plot, as he met people like Mimosa and Klaus and moved their development along.
But at the same time, he can become just as great from the "ground up", in others eyes. Show others even more that greatness can come from something small. He's tired of being the "four leaf boy".
He's Yuno. Yuno, the commoner. Yuno, Asta's rival. Yuno, who just happened to end up with a great grimoire; one that he treasures and is grateful for, but one that isn't all he is.
So...in the end, I think it really could make sense for Yuno to join the Bulls, beyond simply wanting to throw him in for the fun of it.
Also, there's this really cute scene I thought of where Asta reassures him he still just sees him as Yuno and it's really cute tbh, no matter how you see their dynamic.
