People tend to create "internal models" to make the world seem consistent and bearable. "Truth", therefore, is initially a rather personal matter. “Reality” is usually what pinches your butt when the "internal model" in your own head ("your truth") turns out to be an illusion which can no longer be maintained. So, as long as nothing pinches or rubs, "your truth" is sufficiently aligned with reality and you can be happy.
