I think I have learnt something about Si
I used to think Si was simply an ability to recall events by their significance over their experience. I understood that people with high Si appreciate achievements and emotional events while Se was more concerned with the journey rather than the end goal, but now I have a new insight regarding the negative aspects of Si. Please tell me if I am wrong, but I have correlated Si to a likelihood to have traumatic memories and sometimes long held grudges. In people I know, including an ISTJ I know very well, I have noticed that the relation of emotions to memories can show itself in not letting events go and being unable to move on from them. For example, my ISTJ for years has recalled for me the same stories from throughout her youth of things she has never gotten over, including having a dog attack, a car crash, a crazy dentist, and multiple negative situations involving her mother. These events have led to long lasting fears and grudges, such as a fear of all large dogs, and a destain for that one dentist despite the incident being over 39 years ago. It is evident she will never emotionally detach herself from these memories, and I have started to see similar traits in other types with Si. This begs the question if Si users are more prone to traumatic memories than Se users. If any Si users have examples of memories, events, or stories they relate a high negative emotional significance to please add them as I would be quite interested in reading what kinds of events are mentioned and how they are described :)
