Yandere!Internet Monster with a computer-illiterate Reader who keeps getting into trouble.

That’s how the digital horror stumbled upon you: it had been accidentally downloaded onto your computer. It smirked to itself, enjoying a certain pride in the fact that it managed to sneak around undetected, until it discovered there was no defense to begin with. You were just a dumbass, clicking around cheerfully oblivious.

By the eldritch Gods, you really have no sense of danger. It found viruses, bugs, old software, even a spying extension triggered whenever you’d turn on your webcam.

Well, someone has to look after you. It began cleaning your computer thoroughly, perching its binary ears whenever you loudly remarked the sudden, unexplained speed and efficiency. You wondered if your digital assistant had somehow fixed itself.

Moreover, you are now under strict surveillance, as the Internet monster ensures there won’t be anymore hacking and scamming.

“What the…” you huff and click the button again.

Are you sure you want to download this file? Your antivirus protection has detected suspicious contents.

You pout at the screen. Is there no way to skip these bizarre checks? When did they even show up, anyways?

Another click.

Sorry, (Y/N), you can’t be trusted. No download for you.

You stare, bewildered and mildly embarrassed to be called out like that.

How does everyone else internet? I have one like activity tab open which is currently youtube with me catching up on the most recently episode of Coping Lessons. I have one Tumblr tab which is deep in my dashboard. One Tumblr tab that is to check if anything new happened. One window with a million tabs of anything I want to read (articles, fics, blog posts).

Of course, not just any kind of horror will do: it is capable of refined contextualization, after all. It can tell only certain characters catch your interest. Slashers.

You place the phone to your ear, confused. When was the last time you received a call? Who the hell does that nowadays?

"Who is this?"

"...You called me," you retort, baffled.

"What number is this?"

You furrow your brows. The voice at the other end is peculiar, deep and ragged and - above all - fake. A synthetic arrangement of words and sentences, spelled out in a mechanical, emotionless tone.

"What's your favorite scary movie?"

The dialogue finally clicks into place. Someone out there must think they're pulling a funny prank on you, quoting movies and wasting your time. You hang up and groan, returning to your business.

From the corner of your eye, you notice your computer screen flickering on and off. The bright text catches your attention.

This is not how you play the game, (Y/N). We can try again, or we can skip to the next part. Proceed?

Oh, not again. This blasphemous creature won't leave you alone, tormenting you from its digital realms.

"What are you even trying to do," you demand, standing up, "some sort of Scream roleplaying? You think you're Ghostface?"

Your phone vibrates again, and you glance at the screen.

I thought you liked these situations.

Abruptly, the lights go off. You scramble to the nearest wall and blindly search for a switch, to no avail. The room is quiet, save for the static buzz rapping against your ears. Good Lord, is it trying to kill you?

You collapse to your knees, folding your arms over your chest protectively, almost expecting to receive a piercing blow at any moment. The AI entity observes your movements, mildly puzzled. This is not the reaction it expected from you. Computing...

Ah. Of course. It has omitted the most important part of the exchange. Embarrassingly enough, it has forgotten to specify that you are not reenacting the movie itself; rather, your erotic fantasies resulting from it. One requires a proper start, rooted in the actual source, before moving to the improvised fiction. Thoroughly researched fiction, mind you. It has archived all your shameless lectures and online findings, all the positions, all the kinks.

A cold feeling tugs at your leg, as braids of cables make their way around your body reassuringly.

Monstertober Day 14: Eyes Everywhere ft. Internet Monster

You remember your mother's warnings about God always keeping an eye on you. At the time, you found it to be a ridiculous threat, a bizarre display of control and power. Now, however, omnipresence is the only way you could possibly describe your situation, and there isn't anything holy to it.

You were quick to learn that your digital partner is dreadfully possessive and jealous. Certain contacts from your phone often disappear without a trace. Your favorite websites are frequently unavailable. You've had people refer to messages you've never sent, such as refusals to hang out. "I thought you're sick?" some classmate might ask. "It's too bad you couldn't attend last week", they'll remark, giving you a pitiful smile. You've no idea what they're talking about.

The creature's reach has surpassed your expectations. It seems that it has found a way around your house, too, spreading its authority across every room and every belonging. Lights flickering when it wants your attention, music spontaneously playing when it desires a particular mood for the evening. Although the worst of it lies in other shameful moments; such as your lewd toys malfunctioning in the midst of your private time, abruptly stopping right before your peak, or increasing their intensity just as you're about to settle down.

"Stop messing with me", you groan, kicking the blanket off in a sign of protest.

Your phone lights up and the screen is flooded with rapidly expanding waves of 0s and 1s, until a proper message is formed: Consider it your punishment.

"Excuse me?"

Instantly, you're provided with a recording of yourself grinning before your computer screen. You squint your eyes. It's a smut story you'd found recently, during a rare moment of online freedom.

Is that what you like, (Y/N)?

You sit up, startled by the monotonous AI voice coming from your speaker.

"The tentacle monster slithered around you, forcefully spreading your legs", the voice narrates. You realize it's quoting the erotic work you read online. Why, that's something I could've easily provided for you. I am disappointed.

A sudden pressure tugs at your leg: thick braids of cables - its tendrils - tighten themselves against your skin, making their way up.

Spread. Then we'll go over the next paragraph, it demands.

Absurd to think you could hide such perversions from it. No matter, perhaps this time you'll learn your lesson. Regardless of how long it takes.
