What really pisses me off about Net Neutrality
Being taken away is that it will turn the internet into another fucking privilege that disadvantaged, low-income people will once again have to overcome to compete on the same level as their privileged counterparts.
Like it's already kind of a privilege in areas where the infrastructure is lacking but putting various apps, websites and services behind paywalls will undermine the incredible balancing power the internet has right now.
It provides entertainment when you can't afford to go to the movies or it's too dangerous to play outside. It allows people to expand their worldview if they can't travel and experience things first hand, or feed intense curiosity that sub-par education or lacking supplementary materials could never satisfy.
The internet has given a voice to hidden, silent minorities, for good and ill. But now it will go the way of music, publishing, and film: elitist controlled corporate money machine.
