Fellow JAG stan here! I was obsessed with it as a kid/teen and I’ve finally been able to rewatch it with thanks to @harmandmac ☺️ Currently flailing over s2 and I’m about to watch 2x08. I CAN’T WAIT!

It’s painful at times being a shipper of Harm and Mac but gah, I just love them to DEATH. And honestly they were probably one of my first tv ships that weren’t on a kids tv show… anyways, I’m so glad to find some other fans hanging out on Tumblr. HI.

what’s your favorite part of Outlander: BoMB so far? 👀👀👀

absolutely it’s henry and julia’s story!! i don’t even know if i could pick a favorite element of it bc i love everything we’ve seen of their characters and their relationship dynamic so much. i’ve been so desperate to get a henry and julia related story for so long now it’s been lovely to see them on my screen and watch their story play out 😭 the story they’ve created for them is so interesting and their dynamic is so compelling to me. and also i love the little embellishments to claire’s lore their story has provided!! every time she is brought up it gets me 🥺 and also more in general i love all the references and callbacks to the original show!! that part has been a lot of fun both in like picking up on the nods and also in the emotional impact some of them have had

I’ve decided on a name for my SAS OC female: Dorothy Hope Trewin (but she goes by Hope) ☺️ now she needs a career or job of some sort, a home base and a personal description (of course) 😁

Oh I love that name! Sometimes I think names are the hardest part of OC development! Congrats on making the first steps.

Not sure what you’re thinking for career- whether you want her civilian or military (so many options for both), but google is your friend! I usually start with Wikipedia pages and then dig further once something catches my eye (for example- for military jobs, ATS is a good search start and that’ll open links to all other jobs women held.) @mercurygray also has a tag on her blog for women in world war two and it’s a great rabbit hole of education on what was out there.

An advantage you’ve got going for you at the moment is SAS: RH started in Africa, went through Italy, and we know (should a S3 happen) that they’re headed to France. That gives some great avenues (if you want) in terms of how your OC came to be tied into the current time line. She could have been in Cairo at the start, could have been of service in Italy in varying forms, or could have always been been based in London!

The personal description part of OC building is very individualized for everyone- I think we all go about it a certain way. I know some people plan everything down to their distant family history ties and there are others who keep it very fluid and morph their OC along with the story and then there is everyone in between! Some people use face claims from existing people to create physical descriptions because having that actual visual is very helpful and others just wing it. Only you can figure out what works best for your personality, but this part is the most fun I think! It’s really where the creative juices start working and I’ve found when I’m in this part of building that the future stories and scenes my character will find themselves begin to take shape as well!

I can’t wait to see how Hope comes to life!!!
