Intertwined Fates by @works-by-waterworks
Adventure Fantasy | General | AO3 | Ongoing
Synopsis: According to an ancient curse, those with the blood of the Goddess and the spirit of the hero are forever destined to be locked into an endless cycle of reincarnation to defeat the evils that plague their land. Thus, there are many epic myths of grand adventures from throughout the history of Hyrule. However, after thousands of years the curse, the root cause, has fallen through the cracks of time, leaving the Princess, a humble merchant's son, and the Prince of the Gerudo very, very uninformed, and vulnerable.

A charming start to a quest, this setting holds promise as our trio prepares to set out on an adventure. We're very early into this tale, but the cast is already a delight and I'm looking forward to see them navigate the task set before them. - amelias-hart
This reads like a really good adventure so far, with a lot of what I like about Zelda. You have the young Hero who has no idea who he's destined to be and just living his life, you have the Princess who's going to need him to step up to his destiny, you have a big threat looming… Loving the world building, especially the Fair dedicated to past Heroes, and I love how Link reacts the what all the statues have in common. There are quite a few mysteries going on already after three chapters, and I'm really looking forward to see what unfolds! - Karama9
Fun beginning that introduces the three main characters as they embark on a quest. Yes, you heard me - they are on quest together! The jury is still out on whether or not Ganon is the big bad and pulling the wool over Link and Zelda's eyes. My favorite part so far is the typical cucco quest. Looking forward to seeing how this story develops. - Mistress Lrigtar
Intertwined Fates is a story with a lot of potential. While it may look at first as a a simple adventure with Link finding out about being the Hero's latest reincarnation, the story is well written and has a lot of potential. It features several of multiple familiar elements from other games, such as Zelda's alter ego Sheik, Link's sister Aryll, or his evil doppleganger Dark Link Still, there are many original ideas hiding within it, such as how the story is set beyond the end of the Child Timeline (something fairly rare), the plot hinges on Zelda's mother being terribly sick and finding a way to cure her, and perhaps most surprisingly, the fact that Ganondorf is a Good guy here and actually joins Link and Zelda on their quest. The question if he Will stay a hero lingers in the air, because even if there's already another villain causing trouble, given that the summary mentions "betrayal", the chance that Ganondorf might be just pretending to be helpful is still there. On top of the mian plot, there are many underlying mysteries, such as Ganondorf apparently not wanting to return to Gerudo Desert, or what Dark Link is trying to do, or Kokiri still existing, but haven't been seen in ages, all of which make the story rich and engaging. - Arias
