One thing that surprised me most about the stage adaptation of Anastasia was the absence of the famous song “In the Dark of the Night.” This was a personal musical favorite of mine since childhood and was sad to see it missing. HOWEVER I love how they added some of the best elements from that song into “Stay, I Pray You” a gorgeous ballad where the company says goodbye to their homeland. An excellent tribute to the original piece.
