Front yard update pt2 12/29
Pt 2 of the final front yard update for 2019
One of our two Christmas trees from last year's Christmas. They are now 1 year old in our household!
Some paper white flowers that where gifted to my sister, they grew and bloomed from bulb super quick!
A secondary picture of the paper whites and the second Christmas tree
Canna Lily seedpods that are ripe
Sorgum that is being grown in a purple plastic tote, we are trying to decide if we want to keep growing Sorgum or if we want to rotate some pollenator flowers/plants into it this upcoming season.
The big potted fig tree up front.
Still haven't planted these guys but they'll be okay for another week or two.
Our weekly/daily harvest. Starting in the upper left (moving to the right) we have Bell peppers, snap peas, green beans, a beet and black Spanish raddishes.
On the bottom left moving right is the Canna seed pods picked today and two carrots from the back.
Closer picture of the beet, black Spanish raddish and the carrots.
Front yard update pt 1 12/29
Pt 1 of the Last front yard update of 2019
Gotta go out and pick the seeds off the Malabar spinich again, we're gonna have a lot of this, this upcoming year if they all turn out viable
Front yard pollinator bunches. Got the Canna Lilly, basil and the mixed flowers. It's been getting very cold (frost levels of cold) so everything but the Canna seems to be taking a beating. We'll have to be more on top of keeping everything pruned this year as it's looking pretty jungly here. Once it gets nice enough we'd like to move half the Cannas down towards the end of the concrete spot.
Tiny potted fig and Moringa, we plan on uppotting them soon. The pomegranate has died out for the season as it's too cold for it and we're hoping that our lemon grasses didn't die but we'll see as time goes on.
Squashes aren't doing so great right now either. Between the cold&frost, we've got someone that's been letting their dog dig in the row. A fence is going to be put up in the nearby future (hopefully the next month so long as we have funds for it.) to prevent this issue from occuring to the rest of the rows we plan on putting up.
Bell pepper w/ a (pretty much dead) Malabar spinich
The mystery pepper from my sister's work, we'd like to propagate a few more from this bush. Next to it is the bigger bell pepper plant. Both bells have taken on a slice since they've exchanged pollens w/ the mystery pepper
Jalapeno pepper in a pot
Finally a squash from one of the house squashes!
Potted dragon fruit and the aloes
