Into the Unknown: an Entrepreneur’s Expedition

Imagine being at the vast sea, no compass to direct, no maps to track, the journey to where you are heading is like of an entrepreneur - vague and unsure. Knowing the destination is pointless. It is by going along with the flow that one will truly know the destination. It’s all but a risk to take to explore alone with no guides, but entrepreneurs perceive it as an opportunity to venture. Turning a challenge into an opportunity is something that only with real courage can do. It is the courage that sprung from within. It is the creativity to innovate products and services to alleviate the pain of needs that allows their passion to get anchored in a profession of uncertainty. It’s their uncontainable ideas that push them to execute the odds and strategize the unknown. 

However alone, a ship will always find another to pledge allegiance with. This way, help will never be out of reach. Thus, an entrepreneur joins others as well in their ventures for help and assistance. So, at times of need, support will be given as expected of you to pay it forward to others that have been in a situation you were once at. However, if help doesn’t come it doesn’t mean either that you are a subject of betrayal. Trust plays a part in this. Learning to trust equates to not expecting in return. Regardless, friend or foe, one must perceive others as an entity to link with a diverse set of networks which in the long run will pave way to effective collaborations. 

Just like a fleet, collaboration among entrepreneurs is vital to succeed in missions except that it doesn’t aim to destroy. It is like cooperating while competing. Because if otherwise, when competition comes first it all falls down to a broken cooperation. And what’s broken is destined to fail. Which is why, when failure strikes it isn’t a coincidence but part of the plan you made. 

Sometimes, sailors get lost and by being so they can arrive in the least expected destination.  Failures may occur to lead us to a greater success. And the only way is to never be afraid to repeat the process. If one refuses to, then their expectation to succeed in one try is nothing but a myth. To succeed is to get better in every try you did, not by draining resources to get the ideal that only repetition and time can hone. Sometimes, good is better than the idea of perfection.  

Sailors are not afraid to voyage not due to their perfect conditioned ships but because of the opportunity that they might miss if they are to make their ships bigger and sturdier first. Timing is everything to both sailors and entrepreneurs. As long as it has the capacity though not at its best, real entrepreneurs will never be hindered to venture to unknown opportunities. For what lies ahead is not worth any regret. 

Into the unknown is where the destination is however, more than anything else is where to start the venture. Here’s how.

THE START OF OUR UNKOWN

Every venture will start with planning, so did we. Together with my group mates, we have identified the opportunity at the same time a problem that will apt our capacity for it to be pacified. Realistically, we chose to explore the business of software application development that can directly provide the needs of the many in terms of safety and security. Plans on innovation are on process, it is expected to provide service and the software itself as the product. Business model is yet to be defined as ways to monetize the app is to be holistically constructed. Customer acquisition through offline but mainly online advertisements in platforms that can reach myriad potential users is the primary goal.
