“Mother…”
“Snowflake.”
Elsa rubbed her hands together once again once the flame died off. Blue eyes looking up in fear and pain. "Y-You said it wouldn't hurt grandfather..." She spoke weakly looking at her chard finger tips trying to use her powers to cool them without her grandfather knowing. The child whimpering. "I-I want mama and papa."
“The pain is important, now look here” he pulled the child to his lap, all his aggressiveness fading back into a paternal touch “We’re going to take care of these little hands, and you’ll be alright. But you must understand, Elsa. If you are bad, you must be punished. That’s why grandpa had to. Now, tell me why you deserved it” he asked the child, waiting for her to repeat his saying.

“I would love to build a snowman! If we work we could make him as tall as papa!”
“Maybe we shouldn’t make him that big. Isn’t it better if he’s a bit smaller?”

‘ and you are here all by yourself? are you gonna be okay in this big castle of yours? ‘ he said, with a little concern in his voice.
Elsa opened the door to her mothers room and walked inside slowly and shook her mother awake. "Mama...:" She whispered before climbing onto the bed herself and sitting on her knees shaking her. "Mama, can I sleep in here so grandfather won't find me?" She asked softly.

“Elsa?” It was late, her child should be in bed, but then she heard her request and shook herself awake.
“Why is your grandfather looking for you, Snowflake?” Iduna asked gathering Elsa in her arms. Iduna hated her father-in-law, hated the fear he instilled in her children.
“Of course you can stay here with me.”
