(!!! I should have asked you more, lol)
1. Favorite Disney movie? The obvious answer for me is Mary Poppins. I still think it’s the greatest accomplishment of Walt Disney Studios and I watched it constantly as a child. Now, I have a hard time watching it without crying because it is just so meaningful to me. I think what gets to me the most, as an adult, is Mr. Banks and his character development, particularly the scene when he’s walking back to the bank, knowing he’s about to be fired, and the Feed the Birds score is on in the background (omg 😭😭😭). But, animated? Oh gosh, I think Beauty and the Beast is perfect. Tangled would be a close second.
2. Walt Disney World or Disneyland?Disneyland. I hate pitting one resort against the other because I love things about both places, but Disneyland is home. There is a feeling that I get in Disneyland that I don’t get in any WDW park or even Disneyland Paris. I don’t know if it’s more charm or homey or more “Walt stood here, Walt watched those bricks being laid, Walt rode this attraction, Walt slept here.” That being said, I freakin’ love Epcot. I pretty much spent my entire last trip to WDW in Epcot and I’m not even sorry. And even though it isn’t asked, my definitive ranking is as follows: 1. Disneyland 2. DCA (Buena Vista Street is life) 3. Epcot 4. Disneyland Paris (beautiful beautiful beautiful) 5. Animal Kingdom 6. Magic Kingdom (I will gladly concede that their Tomorrowland and Haunted Mansion is better) 7. Hollywood Studios.
3. Favorite Disney character? Mary Poppins, Rapunzel, and I’m becoming more and more partial to Baymax and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
4. The first Disney movie you remember seeing in the theatres?Oliver and Company (I’m old). Without looking it up, I want to say this came in out in 1988? So I would have been 3. I remember very vividly that my aunt took me to see it by herself, so she must have been watching me for my parents. This was before any of my cousins were born so this is the one and only time I remember spending time with my aunt without any of my cousins (she has 5 kids).
5. What type of Disney item do you collect the most? (Pins, Vinylmation, dolls, etc.)Anything Disneyland specific (shirts, posters, whatever), especially vintage or vintage-looking items, and I have yet to see an end for my tsum tsum obsession
6. Your favorite Disney song?Feed the Birds (I was bawling when Richard Sherman came out to play it on Disneyland’s 60th), but my favorite song to belt out is probably Belle.
7. Favorite attraction/ride at the parks?Enchanted Tiki Room, Indiana Jones, and Tower of Terror
8. What is your dream job at Disney?Jungle Cruise skipper, for sure. I would also love to drive the trolley in DCA or work in the shops on Buena Vista Street, so I could wear the ADORABLE costume.
9. Who’s the park character you never want to miss meeting at the parks?I don’t usually set out to meet characters, unless I’m with a person just visiting. But I love to see anything rare or anything with a short line (haha). If I see Mickey, Oswald, or Goofy with a short line, I jump in it. And Big Thunder Ranch is like a guarantee to see rare characters.
10. What’s your most treasured Disney item?I still have my autograph book from around 1991. So it has all these signatures from Disney Afternoon characters. I also love my E ticket metal sign that I bought from the Walt Disney Family Museum, my Epcot sweatshirt, my Poster Art from the Disney Parks book, and my Main Street Red Wagon Inn poster. Even though it’s not officially mine, I am claiming my dad’s ticket book from 1965 and I will frame it one day.
