NAME : Emmanuelle Harkness (Sara didn’t want to get attached but theres no way Agatha would have let me without a name)
BIRTHDATE : 23 April 1985
GENDER : Female She/Her
SEXUALITY : Lesbian (if that wasnt already clear)
NATIONALITY : Itrykian but French thanks to Sara and American
RACE : Itrykian (from the planet Itryke) we have two forms, one called Lunmite, which is our original form as Itrykian, each adorned with a different skin colour, horns, fangs and non-round ears. Finally, the Enmite form is the appearance we take after our family's totem animal. Mine is a brown bear. With Sara's help, I was able to take on human form with the help of a necklace that I wear all the time, using up a lot of her magic.
ABILITIES : Each Itrykian possesses one or two powers that are passed down from generation to generation. My father gave me the power of healing, which means I can heal people by recovering their pain and inflicting it on myself. Futhermore, when I'm in combat and someone throws an attack at me, I can recover this energy and create a projection of equal energy that can be controlled with a receptacle, in this case my two swords. If I don't use a receptacle, I can explode. Literally. So don't worry, I die, it can happen when you're clumsy like me, but I have regeneration, when I die I reappear in the same place where I was killed and naked. My mother has only one power, that of communicating with the dead, and she passed this on to me too. I can only see them when the deceased has an unfinished mission, I can see them as they look, but I can lift this cloak if I want to. (If you'd like, I can do a post on the history of my planet Itryke with the different houses, totems, powers, forms…)
I was born on the planet Itryke, a habitat similar to Earth but with a larger surface area and more extensive and healthy greenery… in appearance.
My father is heir to the House of Henoryn, which has ruled the twenty kingdoms for three centuries. He is a king loved by all Itrykians, and fell in love with my mother, who was a rival of my father's family. My mother's home, where she lived from farming, was not what my father wanted. An impossible love was created, which later gave birth to a little girl, me.
With civil war breaking out and fear taking hold, my parents decided to send me to another planet, safe from the mercenaries out to get me.
I flew to planet Earth and crashed in the Abbey in Massachusetts located within a pocket dimension on the cursed grounds of Old Salem in Salem. Sara also known as the Caretaker (descended from the Elder Gods of Earth) and Agatha Harkness (witch and one of the original witches from Salem) found me on South Hill in an explosion. At first they were on their guard because no one can pass through the portal around the area. Sara wanted to give me to Charles Xavier but Agatha saw this arrival as a sign and told his wife that the baby would stay here. Sara never refused her witch anything.
The years went by and Sara knew that I wouldn't be able to walk outside the habitat in my Tiefling form without being harmed so she made a sturdy metal necklace to give me a human form.
I was then welcomed into this unusual life surrounded by magic and myth by two loving women whom I consider to be my mothers.
Sara trained me in the arts of demon protection. With her help, I was able to tame my abilities and become a guardian like Sara. At the same time, I learned the art of sorcery from Agatha.
In 2000, Illyana used one of her portals to enter the Abbey from Limbo, and after forcing her to rest and gain her trust, we set off into the underworld. After this fight Illyana didn't want to return to the X-men's house and preferred to stay here.
In 2002, Wanda arrived to find out more about the history of the Salem witches. This led to several adventures.
The following year, Blade made his appearance, always in fits and starts, but we made friends just the same.
The sanctuary grew with the arrival of Robbie when Agatha wanted to offer this young man another mission so that his family could have a more stable life.
Then there's Nico, who was the youngest, looking for a way to show off her talents for a cause.
We became a group of guardians against the forces of evil in a way, but everything changed in 2006, when during my training alone in the clearing near Agatha's cottage, a poor quality plane was spat out. It was Clint and Natasha returning from their mission to “destroy” the red room. After a more than comical interaction I forced Natasha to stay so that I could attend to her serious injuries. Surprisingly, she agreed, but remained wary. Clint was also taken aside. I asked them to stay several weeks at the Abbey to heal.
When it was time to leave, Clint saw that Natasha had given me her trust in a small way, and having already deciphered it, he asked me if I wanted to join the Shield. At first I refused, but with the help of my mothers and my friends at the Abbey, I agreed.
I spent several years in the Shield, where the events we all know so well came together.
Just before the events of Civil War, a more than disturbing apparition occurred. Itrikian mercenaries stormed Paris and New York with the sole aim of finding the princess.
What happens next remains a mystery… because yes, there are going to be a LOT of happy and unhappy endings… if you want to know what happens next or if you want more explaination of shield/avenger life and some relationship, let me know and I'll be happy to explain it to you in a few lines in part 2 !
