I don’t get people who hate Elain and say she’s “boring” or “just there.” Being quiet and introverted is also a personality trait, you know? Not everyone has to be loud, sarcastic, or constantly fighting someone to be interesting. Sometimes softness is power. Sometimes silence is protection. Sometimes being quiet means you're too busy thinking to waste words on noise.
The amount of times people used to say things like this to me: “Do you even talk?” “Oh, she speaks?”
Like. Maybe I do like talking, just not to you. Ever think of that? It’s funny how people assume if you’re quiet, you must be boring. Or weak. Or not really there.
Being quiet ≠ clueless. Being soft-spoken ≠ spineless. And being silent≠ your invitation to be rude
People ignore Elain, mock her, call her useless—because she’s soft and quiet and kind. But it takes more strength to stay kind in a cruel world than it does to become bitter.
You can call her boring. I call her brave.
