Also noticing how in many first drafts, my characters often seem to be trying to drop hints that they are turning evil or at least morally gray. I take full responsibility that that says more about me than my characters.

Sitting here trying to work on my fic while pushing away the feeling that nobody cares every five minutes and also texting and ♥️-ing my enthusiasm for just about everything else that everybody else is doing.

It's not a complicated equation why so many fic writers struggle with the lack of engagement on or about their works.
