Things I'm Obsessed With: Settlers of Catan

Description: Settlers is a strategy (and luck) game played with 4-6 players which can last for 1-2 hours. Players build "roads" connecting "settlements" using different resources (wood, clay, wheat, sheep, & rock). There are various ways to get points using the different resources, but the first person to 10 points is the winner.  

Why I'm Obsessed: My friends and I get together at least once every two weeks to play Settlers. In fact, all it takes now is a text message from one of us saying "Settlers?" and people show up at my apartment at 7:30. It has just the right mix of strategy and luck, so somebody different wins every time, and even us competitive types have a good time every time.

I am not a person who goes out very often. Settlers has been a good thing for me not only because it is a fun game, but also because it brings me and my friends together on a regular basis without my having to leave the comfort of my apartment. Really, it's a win-win.
