Bewilderment came over the onyx haired woman as she raised a hand up to the sky. ...What?? The girl had gone along on an adventure with her fellow friend before the snowfall came over them. “I...snow?? But, it is July?” She spoke with a rare look of genuine concern. For as excited as she’d usually be about snow, this was just..odd. Very odd and very sudden. Too sudden for her liking. “Hey, what do you think is going on? We should probably get inside..”
OPEN HOURS || OPEN STARTER
The sweet melodies of the band playing in the jazz club allowed for the redhead to happily sway along to the rhythm without a care in the world. That is all about what he wished could continue to be the case for the night. Though it wasn’t unusual for the air of the club to be tense as intense eyes searched for whatever answers they sought after, or perhaps purely for other purposes which Pax didn’t particularly want to get into. Despite the uneasiness he felt at times, he liked to enjoy what he did! While it had its cons, he had fun with it at least, and he felt content with it. His attention fell upon a familiar face, to which he offered his usual welcoming smile as a silent hello. As his little performance came to an end, he decided to greet them. “Hey, hey. Are you enjoying your night?”
dipper sighs as he refolds the tenth t-shirt today. he wishes people would learn to put the merchandise back neatly instead of throwing it down when they realize they don’t want it. he's tired, but his shift is almost over so he has to budge through another hour until he can go up to his room and get some writing done. he thinks about the idea he’s been brewing in his head all day for a new novel idea and he can't wait to get it down on paper.
he’s pulled out of his thoughts by a customer who approaches him. he slips back into his ‘worker’ mindset and puts on a smile. “hi, what can i help you with?”

Maddie didn’t know how long she had been sitting there, on the top of this brick wall with nothing but her kicking legs and concrete about 10 feet below her. Past that, the roaring river that carried supplies from one end of the asteroid to the other. Being her, apartments of some kind. She knew that she had seen the sun set and then rise again, artificial or not, and she had felt the temperature fluctuate around her. It felt different up here, with all of the stars. She might not have been that far up but it felt as if she was a world away from everything.
A presence approached her, one that tasted like lilac in their aura and Maddie did not turn to great them. Instead she continued to hum until they were close enough to hear her speak over the miscellaneous sounds of the city around them. How loudly it roared it’s beautiful head first thing in the morning.
“How did you sleep?”
COZY COMPANY? || OPEN STARTER
"It is nice to see you again. You seem well, don't you?" The boss stated as he stared his companion down with his steel toned eyes. The redhead had a usually busy schedule, but he made the time to see certain people when he could. Higa and Naraka were assisting him in his duties for the moment while he stopped to chat. Alma Fudoh, well known in the underground crime scene as a hero of sorts due to how often he extended a branch for those in need within this city of New York. From generous donations, to other aids, the redhead had garnered quite the reputation. But to the outside world, or more specifically the police, he was merely an enigma. And that is the way he preferred it.
Shouto just finished up stapling a poster in this area. Another missing person, he read the title at the top of the page. It wasn’t surprising considering the mayhem that happened, but it didn’t make the news any easier to consume. Or that the other options behind their missing. Ready to head to the next corner to post another one when he caught sight of someone walking by. “Excuse me,” He called out, “Have you seen this person?”
He gestured to the poster. Three days since last seen. No contact with parents. A description of a petite brunette girl with ruby eyes. Missing Hikari Yagami.
her fingers dig into the flesh at her side, a hiss forcing its way past her lips. her face is scrunched up in pain, a momentarily flash of weakness as she leans against the wall for support. she presses her face into the concrete, trying to ignore the sting that runs up her body whenever she moves. she tries to find something else to think about-just for this moment until she can get her bearings once more. gritted teeth, clenched jaws, and sweat that runs down her neck, ae-ra forces herself to stand, to straighten.
her breath is ragged. she only needs to get through today, she only needs to get through tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after. she is strong, she has received worse infliction than this-much, much worse. there are eyes on her, the familiar feeling of someone’s gaze scrutinizing her. “what?” she snarls, not even bothering to look-just focusing on getting her breathing to a normal pace, trying to lose the tension in her body so that she can feign she’s alright.
