I know Spring is a busy time for a lot of us, so take a break and be creative! It’s good for your soul! And besides…who could resist these two boys!
Here are the official prompts that you voted for the most:
Day 1: Arranged Marriage | Breeding | Royalty AU
Day 2: Forced Bonding | Demon Inuyasha | Soul Marks
Day 3: Forced Proximity | Enemies to Lovers | Inu-no-Taisho Lives
Day 4: Blood Moon | Guardian | Hunt
Day 5: New Moon | First Kiss | Forbidden Love
Day 6: A/B/O | Overprotective | Fuck or Die
Day 7: Human Inuyasha | Public Display | Sesshomaru’s Poison
Now! While these might be the official prompts, these are just to help get the creative juices flowing! Don’t let them limit you! Afterall, we all know both Sesshomaru and Inuyasha are stubborn guys and sometimes they just do their own thing no matter what we originally had planned!
And do not be afraid to post late!! Like I said before, Spring is a busy time for pretty much everyone and none of us want to see you stress out over a fun event!
We will start posting more frequently now that the event is getting closer, so make sure you keep an eye out for those as they will give more information on where and how to post your work for the event!
The InuSess Event takes place June 24th-30th, that will give you 5 weeks to write, draw, or create whatever you want for the event!
Please remember: this is a NSFW event! All types of work are allowed and encouraged! We just ask that all works are properly tagged in case any younger participants want to join in! For any questions: please feel free to ask us directly in our Ask section OR ask our Mod: SnowInJuly: Here!

It’s been nearly 11 years since you published this work, and it endures high above the rest. Tell us your thoughts. Did you think it would be so long lasting? Did you set out to write a best hit story? What were your own expectations when you wrote it?
Honestly, I don’t think I ever considered whether it would be long lasting or not. When I began writing fanfiction, the stories were mostly for myself and to help decompress from my “real job”. As with all the stories I write, my hopeful expectation is that they give the reader a mental break from the heaviness of our current world and whatever stresses they have going on in their own lives. That’s what reading is to me, and I hope to give others the same type of reprieve.
Can you talk us through the process of writing this piece – from initial idea to finished draft?
I’m not great with rough drafts. I’ve tried them in the past and they just turn out kind of meh. The vast majority of my stories start with an initial idea where I have point A (the start) and point C (the end) pretty well solidified, but the journey getting between those points is hardly set in stone. For me, one of the personal joys of storytelling is figuring out how to get from point A to point C. That is the beauty of storytelling—the characters have problems I can actually solve.
At the heart of your story is the relationship between Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. How did you develop them while keeping the story moving forward?
I’ve always loved the Sesshomaru/Inuyasha dynamic and I adore them together, however, I have never thought that journey would be an easy one. There is far too much animosity and hurt between the two of them. Therefore, my Inu/Sessh stories nearly always need a catalyst that puts them together, the understanding and love builds from there. Sesshomaru is far too proud and stubborn a character to have any quick emotional turn around and Inuyasha is too impulsive and defensive to accept that change of heart easily.
What was your favorite part of the story to write?
The beginning and the end. I enjoy the set up for a story and by the time I reach the end, I’m ready for the characters to have some closure.
What was the most challenging?
Figuring the path from point A to point C. That is often also the most rewarding part—trying to keep them in character and making their decisions and actions believable.
Tell us about your editing and revising process. How did you know you were ready to publish?
Oh, I’m a terrible editor. I don’t exactly hate grammar, but I don’t love it either. I’ve often said I consider myself a storyteller, not a writer. What I mean by that is that I don’t agonize over punctuation, the correct word choice, or other things that grammar lovers tend to salivate over. Truth be told, without proper editing, I doubt any of my stories should truly be published. In my heart, I hope readers understand that fanfiction is something the storyteller does out of love and affection for the characters and can look past grammatical mistakes.
Tell us about your other stories. What things inspire you? Where do you get your ideas?
Hmm . . . I feel like my stories come from all kinds of places but mostly observation regarding humanity’s strengths and weaknesses. I’ve been told most of my stories revolve around “found family” and I would have to agree. I think a therapist would most likely make something of that. I just know giving my characters a solid support base and a happy ending makes me happy in return.
What advice would you give to other writers?
For me, the fear of never trying had to finally overcome the fear of failure. I’d like to say that process was short, but it was truly over a decade or more before I took the leap. I think we all write for different reasons. For me, it is a way to mentally decompress. Writing isn’t something I have to do, it’s something I want to do and that makes all the difference.
Do you have any comments on unfinished stories, yours or others?
Personally, I don’t have a lot of unfinished stories. Unfinished stories on fanfiction sites was always one of my biggest bug-a-boos. Not that I don’t understand, but it was really frustrating getting into a story and having it go silent. For that reason, when I wrote fanfiction, I would make certain the story was at least 2/3 complete before the first chapter went up. By 2/3 of the way through, barring any major catastrophe on my end, the story would get finished.
Do you have any advice for writers who don’t get a lot of acknowledgements?
That is a very difficult position to be in. My first published series, “Reaping Covetous” hasn’t sold well and I adore the characters in that series. I’ve published other stories that have done well, but still not much love for “Reaping Covetous” and that hurts. Mostly it hurts because I want others to love those characters as much as I do. A lot of the time, it’s not about the writing, it’s about finding the audience for your characters. That can be terribly difficult and something I’m still struggling with. I have a poster hanging on the wall with a unicorn on its back laying on a therapist couch with the therapist saying, “You just have to believe in yourself”. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stared at that poster.
Any other things you’d like to say?
A big thank you to the Inu/Sessh fandom. Without your support, love, and encouraging comments, I’m not sure if I would have ever gained the confidence to write and publish my own stories. I will always have a deep love for this fandom and the Inu/Sessh world. In my world, Sesshomaru finally pulls the stick out of his ass and realizes just what an amazing individual Inuyasha is and that loving him is a hell of a lot more rewarding than trying to eliminate him.
Happy reading everyone J
Thank you
