MARK GRAYSON has been running on fumes lately.
between cecil breathing down his neck and the responsibility of having oliver around, he feels like he can't catch a break.
he's so wound up he feels like he might snap. which is exactly why he spends his rare moments of off time with his very best friend!
"shitshitshit!" the words break out of him in a high, desperate whimper. his head lolls back, eyes fluttering shut as your hands wrap around his length, jerking his flushed, aching dick with a merciless rhythm.
he looks gorgeous like this; hot tears running down his face from the sheer amount you've edged him, pink puffy kiss-swollen lips, and those big glossy puppy dog eyes you've always adored. can it get any better than this?
he's bucking into your hand, trying his best to listen to you telling him over and over again to stay still. "mark.." you coo at him, your hand slowing down a fraction, "stay still for me, okay?" he nods frantically at your request, but it's easier said than done :(
"m'sorry, i-" he's cut off by another whine as you speed up the strokes. his body jolts up and one of his hands grip the sheets next to him so hard his knuckles turn white, his other on your hip, not squeezing as tight because he knows he needs to control himself.
"please" he cries, "pleasepleaseplease lemme cum!" he looks up at you with big desperate eyes, "i'll be good, i'll be so good!" he promises. you can't count how many times he's said that in the past 10 minutes.
"yeah? you wanna cum, mark?" you tilt your head down at him with a patronizingly sweet smile, bringing your free hand up to move sweaty strands of his black hair away from his forehead tenderly.
he nods so fast you're afraid he'll get whiplash. he mumbles nonsense as you praise him and turn him to putty, though he doesn't realize it's nonsense in his fucked-out, dazed state.
once you finally give him the permission to cum, he's blabbering incoherent thank you's and arching his back off the bed as he pulses rhythmically and coats your hand in globs of warm sticky release.
viltrumites sure do cum a lot.
he's panting and recovering from his orgasm, falling into you and clutching the hem of your shirt. "thank you..." he mumbles,
"s'good.." you smile at his words, rubbing his back. and to no one's surprise, he's still somewhat hard.
parings : mark grayson (invincible) x female!reader
synopsis : you’ve been having self doubt, wondering if you’re enough for someone like him.
tags : she/her pronouns, second person, hurt/comfort, no specific time but it’s during third season, civilian!reader, a bit of self deprecating, reader knows he’s invincible, crying guh, soft mark, hopeless devoted mark, he loves you sm, first time writing for him
mark is anything but ordinary. he’s extraordinary.
the man behind invincible, the man who’s dedicated himself to protecting every living creature, the man who rebelled against his fathers wish to take over the planet.
a hero that the world needs, a hero that everyone can rely on.
she knew what she was getting into when she started dating him, knowing that sometimes date night would have to be moved because a bad guy in britain was destroying big ben.
but whenever he came back to her, whispering soft apologizes about missing their date, cupping her cheeks with the same hands that punched some guys teeth out and kissing her with all the tenderness in the world, all was well.
each night, wether in call or cuddled up together, he would always repeat the same words, how he would move heaven and earth to be with her.
how, if he could, ignore the calls for invincible and let the other heroes handle it just to have one normal date with her.
and each time, she smiles like a idiot and hums, resting her head on her arm as half of her heart flutters at the thought of being loved so much by such a being.
the other half, however, pinches at the of being loved by such a being.
being loved by someone like mark, someone adored by so many, someone who has the strength of the gods combined, it scares her.
not in a bad way, god no. mark could never scare her in anyway.
what scares her, is not being enough for him.
she’s not blessed with some superpower, or some special talent that could prove useful for anyone, she was just normal.
and normal in a world of superhero’s, is nothing.
there’s times when she lies awake at night, staring at the ceiling and thinking of the worst.
what if one day, mark faces someone stronger, quicker, someone that could kill him? and what could she do about it? nothing.
she can’t go out there and fight, go out there and try to get him to safety without the risk of becoming calamity damage.
sometimes, she wonders if he’d be better off with dating another superhero. someone who can protect him better than she ever could.
she remembered seeing footage of him and atom eve fighting together, how they both worked so well together in terms of protecting each other.
that ugly feeling crept into her chest, that bitter taste of jealousy gnawing at her side as she stuffed it down.
it wasn’t towards their friendly demeanor with each other, she knew eve doesn’t see mark like that, knew mark doesn’t see eve like that either.
she trusts them both, she loves eve, that girl deserves the world.
the green monster came from how well eve can protect mark. eve had powers, had the ability to rearrange matter for christ sake!
someone like her deserves someone like him. a super powerful being with another, not a super powerful being with a normal person.
thoughts like those have been consuming her, and each time she sees mark, it makes those thoughts become ten times louder in her head.
she knew eventually that she’d have to talk about it, get it off her chest, rip off the bandaid, let the cat out of the bag-
“hey, stop, you’re making your lip bleed.”
….she just didn’t think it’d be today.
she blinked, reality coming back to her as she felt mark’s hand gently pull her hand from her lip.
she didn’t even know she was picking her lip.
“oh.” was all that left her lips, feeling the metallic taste enter her mouth.
mark gently brought up a thumb, wiping her bottom lip, “you were so lost in thought, I called you, like, two times and you didn’t answer.”
he shifted his gaze to her eyes, brushing some hair away, “where’d you go off to, hm?” he mumbled with that sweet, soft voice.
she stared back at him, stared into those beautiful, tired brown eyes that always held that light of adoration toward her.
she almost blurted out what she was thinking, opening her mouth before shutting it, pressing her lips into a thin line.
she can’t, not now. she didn’t want him to worry about her.
she let a smile grace her lips, one that didn’t reach her eyes as she shook her head, “nowhere, I guess I just…dissociated.”
bad excuse. bad lie. the way her voice held a heavy weight gave it away entirely.
plus, she didn’t know if it was his viltrumite side or if shes a bad liar, but he can always tell when she lies.
mark frowned, dropping his hand to place it on one of her thighs, “you’re lying.” his tone never changed, it always stood at the same level.
patient, soft, understanding.
she shook her head, “I’m…I‘m not.” she stutters, shifting her gaze, “I’m…probably just tired, haven’t been sleeping well.”
not a lie, but not the entire truth either.
but, now, she wishes she picked a different lie.
he gripped her thigh, not in frustration, but with worry, “you haven’t been sleeping well?”
great, way to dig the hole deeper.
she only shrugs in response, turning her head away to stare down at the sheets on her bed.
marks other hand grab hers, “hey,” he whispered, gently holding her chin and turning her gaze back to him, “talk to me, beautiful, what’s wrong?”
god, he has the patience of a saint. and the determination of a bull. two of the many things she loved about him.
she let out a shaky breath, a soft scoff mixed in with it, “it’s stupid.”
“nothings stupid when it comes to you.” he was quick with that, the hand on her chin moving upwards to her cheek, “let me hear you,” her name left his lips, like it was the most precious thing for him to say.
‘oh, why?’ she thinks. ‘why did you gift me a man with such devotion?’
they sat in silence for a few short seconds. he didn’t push, didn’t probe, just caressed her cheek and hands with the brush of his thumbs.
it took a minute for her to psyche herself up, to finally let the doors down and, hopefully, not be crying by the end of it.
“it’s just….do you….are you-“ she stumbles over her words, shutting her mouth and taking a sharp breath through her nose.
mark nods at her, “take your time, it’s okay.”
after collecting a subtle sentence to form on her tongue, she starts up again, “are you…happy with me?”
the rubbing on her skin stopped, his eyes widening as soon as the words left her lips. “what? what do you-“ now he’s stuttering, a few incoherent words leaving his lips before he shook his head.
“of course I’m happy with you! what kind of question is that?” marks voice goes up an octave, full defensive as his other hand cupped her other cheek.
“sweetheart, where is this coming from?” she felt his hands shake against her face, eyes filled with hurt, and shame.
not towards her, never towards her, it’s towards himself. thinking it was him that making her think like this.
“did I do something?” he asks, “did I do something to make you think like this?”
her heart sunk to the bottom of her stomach, reaching up to grip his hands and shake her head, “no, no mark, it’s not you, you never did anything wrong.”
the last thing she ever wanted was for mark to think he was the cause of her thoughts. she would never let him think that.
“it’s just….I’ve been thinking too much.” she starts again, bringing his hands down to her lap and looking down.
“like…I mean, I think about if you’d be better off with someone else…someone who’s just like you.”
he didn’t speak, didn’t say anything. she took another deep breath, “I see you out there, fighting bad guys, saving lives, risking your life, and I’m just-“ she shook her head, “sometimes I wish, I could do more.”
“like sometimes I wish I could be out there with you, protect you, and I know-“ she laughed a bit, “I know you don’t need protection, lord knows you can handle yourself.”
it sounds silly saying it out loud, wishing that she could protect the strongest being on earth, but she didn’t care, because she cared so much about him.
“but, I can’t. I can’t do the things you do, or powers like eve, and I feel like-“ her voice cracks, feeling her throat tighten up, “I feel like I’m not enough for you.”
the room was filled with heavy silence, shutting her eyes and waiting for something, anything from him.
a choked sob filled her ears, but it didn’t come from her. she looked up, being greeted with the sight of mark’s trembling lips and tear stained cheeks.
she immediately felt guilty, she said too much, made him feel like crap. “mark, I’m so-“ he cut her off with a tight hug, gripping her shirt and pressing himself against her.
the way he latched onto her, like she’d slip away, made her arms raise up in surprise. he nuzzled his face against her neck, “don’t. don’t apologize.” his voice was weak, filled with grief.
“don’t ever, think that I’m not satisfied with you. that I ever want anybody but you.” he picked his head up, looking her in her eyes, “why would I ever want someone else when I have the best person by my side.”
mark’s hands found her way back to her cheeks, “do you think I care that you don’t have powers? or want you to sacrifice your safety just for me?” he shook his head, “I fell in love with you for just being you.”
“the you who helped patch me up when a fight went wrong, the you who lets me ramble on about my childish interest,” he let out a little laugh at the end of that, “the you who didn’t look at me like a monster after what my dad did.”
she didn’t notice the wetness of her cheeks, shaking her head, “that’s the bare minimum-“
“that’s the whole world to me.” mark counters, his expression serious mixed with the softness, “everything you are, you are the whole world to me.”
he cradled the back of her head, pressing their foreheads together. a shiver went done her spine, a soft sigh leaving her lips.
“so don’t you ever, ever, think that I’d be better off with someone else. I don’t think I could handle being with anyone that isn’t you.” the other hand on her cheek brushing her skin, “you make me feel normal, like I belong here, like I’m just a human.”
she was his lifeline to normalcy, his own breath of fresh air away from hero work. away from the calls, away from the beating from bad guys.
at this point, they were both crying, with mark speaking every bit of devotion like he was talking to a higher power.
“I never want to lose you, I love you. I’ll love you forever.” and then, as if to seal it permanently, he captured her lips into a kiss.
she immediately melted in, eyes fluttering shut. everytime he pulled away, he’d mumbled against her lips, “I love you.” kiss “you’re my everything.” kiss “my whole world.” kiss “I’d die without you.”
after a small kissing session, they pull away for air, breathing heavy as mark cradled her closer to him.
his hands caress her back, brushing through her hair as he kissed the top of it.
to the world, they knew him as invincible, one of the strongest beings on earth.
but to her, he was just mark grayson, a man hopelessly devoted to his girlfriend.
and to to world, she was nothing special, another face in the wind to forget.
but never to him. to him, she was his everything, his entire being.
So, this is a preview of an AMV that I've been working on on and off for a good bit of time. Im curious if anyone would be interested in me...well, finishing it and actually doing the whole song. Leave your replies in comments or reblogs on the post.
