He stood waiting on the porch, Ellie on his hip. It seemed like Violet hadn't taken a weekend trip with her girlfriends in years... at least in the three years they'd had Ellie. 

"Mommy?" The dark haired child asked.

"Soon sweetie, she's on her way." He looked inside the house at the clock, five minutes.

He heard a car coming, and saw it pull into the driveway, his beautiful wife getting out with her duffle bag over her shoulder..

He all but ran towards her, wrapping her in his arms and kissing the top of her head.

"OH I MISSED YOU! HOW I MISSED YOU! YOU ARE NEVER ALLOWED TO LEAVE ME AGAIN!"

Kanaya had just transfered into Violet's school, and was put in the desk next to her. She smiled, looking at the girl beside her. Her tan sand buffeted skin was a stark contrast to the bright jade green outfit which she wore. "Hi, My name is Kanaya. What's yours?"

Violet had known that there was going to be a new student but she was expecting a lame guy. This girl seemed nice enough to talk to. ”Hi! I’m Violet. Nice to meet you.”

"It's nice to meet you too.." she wondered what she should do, it was easier to hide her powers in the desert where she was surrounded by sand. 

she sneezed, causing a whirl of sand in the class room, and she blushed.
