If you have one invisible message that you can’t get rid of, just try this:

use the desktop version of tumblr on your computer (it may work on mobile too but I’m not sure), send yourself an ask or have someone else send you one, and instead of answering it, hit “delete all messages.” you have to have a message or two in your inbox for “delete all messages” to appear. that got rid of it for me, hopefully it’ll get rid of it for you! <3

oh, and thank you staff for not providing your own solution and instead leaving me to figure it out for myself we appreciate it
