Meaning in inconvenience?
I recently came into possession of an old Cassette stereo (a small pioneer system). At first I though of dumping it, what was I going to do with an old piece of junk. Months past and curiousity got the better of me. I began researching places to get cassettes (apparently they are back from the dead). I also started thinking. Although we have music at our fingertips on our mobiles, i tend to find my because I can access it so quickly I’m not really paying much attention, not to mention all the choices (what am I going to listen too) rock, metal, pop, ect.Pondering further (I’m sure I am not the first or last person to put this idea forwards) I think the sacrifice (time and control) of listening to a cassette tape (being constrained by the tapes you own, and lack of repeat or quick song selection) means more attention needs to be given to the task. You want to be sure you’ll enjoy the music. I think this also applies to other situations, people who like to take photos on film, people who, take joy in writing things by hand or type writer. Because there is there is inconvenience involved, you dedicate more of your attention there is more joy (this may be the wrong term) to extract from the task.
