Some people criticize shooters for not shooting competition -- basically saying they're not worth their salt unless they engage in the game and rack up a public score. Well... that's like saying Bill Gates will never make it as a businessman because he didn't get a college degree. - Gates never needed college credentials to win on the battleground of running a successful business. And I don't believe you have to shoot competitions to be a competent shooter. Do competitions help and test important things? Absolutely. But you can train and run guns on your own and become very proficient if you set high standards and work at it. - Competition shooting is simply an avenue for honing skills and learning valuable disciplines from other disciplined shooters. Should it be the end goal for all shooters?
