Can you give us something with James and Iris telling their family ( Drysdales, Rogers and Adlers) about their new lil one on the way? also what was Poppy, Thorne and Oakley's reaction to that news?
Oh!! Well for both Iris and Posie they wanted to tell their smaller family first. Like how Kitten and Ransom does, Iris and James have a family dinner with Posie and Jax. At this point, they had moved back, and it kills James not to see the kids daily. Poppy loves the babes, Thorne loves his mama, and Oakie is James and is like, okay. This is cool.

James drops his fork on his plate, and grabs up Iris’s hand. Giving her a serene smile, and he rubs on her leg. “Ris, I think it’s time,” she gives him a little nod and Poppy crawls over into his lap. Still his baby girl.
“Daddy, you and mommy got secrets like Posie?” she asks sweetly.
“Mama no secets. No no,” Daisy shakes her head, leaning back on Posie. “Mama in way,” she slaps at her belly, and Iris snorts.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“What?” James looks at Iris and then at Posie. “What’s happening.”
“Mom,” Posie clears her throat trying to push Daisy’s hand off of her. “What are you needing to tell us.”
“Uh, your dad…”
“Hey hey hey, this was a joint effort. I brought it up, you were completely complicit in the endeavor.”
“What are you talking another?” Thorne’s lip curls up as he looks at his dad.
“We’re having another baby!” James almost shouts, covering Poppy’s ears who squeals with him.
“A baby?” Abel and Oakley ask at the same time.
“Oh no,” Jax leans over on Posie, causing Daisy to push at his face.
“Dada no, my mama.”
“Mommy is having baby, Oakie.”
“Another one? This family has a lot of babies,” Thorne may tease his dad, but he does walk over to give his mom a big hug.
“Posie, I think you also have something to tell us,” Iris snorts again grabbing at James hand.
“What could possibly be better than your mother being pregnant again?” handing Daisy over to Jax who just makes grabby hands for her mama the second she lets her go.
“Mama hold you,” turning to the side she runs her hands down her body, flattening the dress. “Mama big belly, yook is gumpy. Yook belly in way.”
“Posie Sarah Rogers.”
“Posie Rogers Teller, daddy.”
“What happened to this plan. You’re living at the estate.”
“The house should be finished before she’s born,” Jax says, handing Daisy back to who rubs on Posie’s belly. Slapping at Lily’s temporary home.
“She?” James pouts, and then looks at Iris. “He says she. So we’re having a baby, and you’re having a baby girl.”
“Yiyi,” Daisy pats her mom’s belly, “Yiyi fowur.”
“Yiyi?” Abel asks. “You’ve been been saying Yiyi for a month. Mama, what’s the baby’s name?”
“Lily Hugh,” Iris let’s out an aw, holding her mouth hearing the sweet name.
“Yiyi fowur. Yiyi fowur. Mama, Yiyi fowur,” Daisy sings looking up at her.
“She has been saying Yiyi a lot,” James stubs up. “You told my Daisy flower about the baby and not us?”
“What babe?” Daisy holds her hands up. “Yovie babe?”
“Mama’s baby,” Jax gives her a kiss on her head, and she shakes it no, slapping at her chest.
“Me mama’s baby.”
“A baby in her belly like Lovie.”
“Ouch,” her chubby hand rubs on her scar. “No baby for mama. I baby. Mama my heawt ouch.”
“Oh no, you need Grumpy to help?” she shakes her head no while Posie rubs on her chest. “So I get another perfect grandchild and another baby? Two babies at once. Is your sister pregnant?”
“I don’t think so,” Iris giggles smiling at her family continuing to get bigger and bigger. “Posie, Jax, you happy?” with a look over at each other, they smile giving a nod. “Abie, you happy?”
“Yep. Can we go play now? We almost got Indie to do a cool trick.”
Excusing the boys, and Poppy pulls Daisy into her room to play with the bunnies, “Baby, was Lily planned?”
“Very planned.”
“Oh god. Do we have to talk about them planning a baby?” James throws his head back, groaning.
“So you and mom can plan a baby, but me and my husband can’t?”
“You just had a baby.”
“And I don’t remember having her,” Posie leans over to Jax, and finally James gets it. Sees that the majority of Posie’s pregnancy she didn’t get to fully enjoy, and then didn’t even know she had her daughter.
“I’m sorry, baby,” he says softly grabbing Iris’s hand. “You okay sharing being pregnant with your mother?”
“I mean, I have a really hot mom. So I don’t mind enjoying this with her. I know you guys always wanted a lot of kids. As long as she doesn’t mind sharing with Yiyi. She’s actually talked about Lily and you never knew?”
“To be fair, she talked about Yiyi fowur,” Posie gives her mom a little giggle, watching as she smiles so big up at her daddy. “We’re telling the rest of the family Sunday.”
“That’s when we were going to. Waited to make sure she was in the clear,” Jax looks only at Posie when he talks. “We were a bit scared that there might be a miscarriage, and then we just kept waiting. Enjoying with just each other.”
“Mimi knows,” Posie giggles.
“Mimi always knows,” Iris finally stands to walk over to her daughter, rubbing her hand over the bump she shouldn’t have missed. “Mimi has a gift.”
“And, she caught me folding clothes in a sports bra and Jax’s pajama pants. Kinda hard to hide a belly.”

“Dad!” Eva shouts at her father as he starts accessing his gear. “Dad, look at me!”
“We’re at work. I’m sheriff Everett,” he only gives her a moment of a glance before he’s back to fidgeting around with his gear. Pissed off and ready to leave.
“Sheriff Everett, you need to take it down a few notches,” He stares down at her a moment, before he starts to stalk away. With one shuffle of her foot, Eva stands in the doorway. “Eva, move.”
“You need a clear mind.”
“Really? Your cousin’s birth control was tampered with, and the only people that had access to those pills were Jax, Posie, Opie, and everyone at that pharmacy. The pharmacy where a former junkie, and the mother of Jax’s son works. Now, I’m not a genius, but what does any of those people besides that vile woman have to gain from this?” Eva stares blankly at Curtis but doesn’t move. “That’s what I thought. Now move. We’re making an arrest. Evaluna Blaze, get out of my fucking way, and do your god damn job.”
“You’re gonna listen to me.”
“No. She took the right to decide from Posie and Jax. Posie and Jax may be happy, but they had every right to wait for their time to decide this. That is your cousin. A girl we have watched grow up. She didn’t deserve this.”
“And she’s not her!” Curtis takes a step back looking at his daughter. “She’s not her grandmother. This is a different scenario. I’m not denying that this is shitty. Wrong in so many ways, but don’t go putting your emotions of a past case on this. It’s different, is all I’m saying. You need to be level headed.”
“You have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“I’ve seen the case file. It’s horrific. This isn’t that. Jax hasn’t abused her. They’re in love, and when we arrest this bitch, Iris and Matt will build a case around her to put her away.”
“You have no idea what the MC is capable of.”
“And have you not been keeping up with our informant, huh? They’re crumbling because of Gemma and Clay.”
Curtis takes a deep breath looking at his daughter. Reminding him so much of himself, “And if we can’t put her away?”
“Well, I may need to chop some wood.”

“What the hell?” the young tech answers, stepping away from the counter when the sheriff’s department comes in.
“Wendy Case?”
“She’s out back smoking,” her brown eyes go in between all the officers. Slowly backing away from the register with her hands raised, “Am I in trouble?”
“What’s going…” the pharmacist stops in his tracks staring at Eva. “On?”
“The sheriff is making an arrest on your employee. Here’s the warrant, I need you two to move aside. I need all video footage you have from the last year. I need the file of Posie Sarah Rogers, and I need to speak with the both of you about interactions between Wendy and Miss Rogers.”
“Ma’am, um uh, Wendy never dealt with her,” the younger girl answers. “She always made an excuse to go smoke.”
“What was Posie picking up?”
“Always birth con…”
“That is a violation. We can not tell you that.”
Eva slaps an evidence bag of pills on the counter, her eyes rolling between the two. “Read the warrant. We have the right to seize all information on Miss Rogers. These were purchased here. Do you know your employee?”
“Officer what’s going on?”
“These pills are useless. They’re sugar pills.”
“I-I-I…no, we don’t do that here,” the pharmacist responds. His head shaking rapidly. “Those are…no, did she not take them correctly?”
“They were tested. Posie said something about a three month supply?”
“We did away with that offer over a year ago,” he looks at his tech, who only shrugs. “What’s going on?”
“These two need to come down to the station. Wendy is under arrest. Get CPS to back off because his father was just granted full temporary custody.”
Emy watches Abel slowly play with a few toys. Mostly just observing him for a moment. Letting him think, hoping he speaks to her. “Your Posie’s aunt?”
“I am. Her dad is my brother.”
“I’m gonna be a brother,” those bright blue eyes roll up to look at Emy and he gives her a kind smile. “There’s a baby in Posie’s belly. I heard my mama talking about it to that woman.”
“What woman?”
“The one who works at the garage. Mom makes me go there,” his fingers play with the toy a bit longer before he gets up fetching something else. “Oh, was I supposed to ask?”
“You’re fine. Did Posie and your dad tell you she was having a baby?” without looking up from his toys Abel shakes his head no. He blows a puff of air out before knocking each toy down one by one. Completely focused on the toys in front of him.
“How did your mom know she was pregnant?”
“She saw her belly.”
“When?” Abel shakes his head, but looks up at Emy nearly scared. “What’s wrong?”
Leaning over the table towards her, he whispers quietly, “It’s mama’s secret. I’m usually sleeping.”
“Where?”
“The car,” Emy looks over to the window seeing Joshua standing there, before he closes the blinds and pushes Iris back.
“Why are you sleeping in the car?”
“Daddy, he smokes, but Posie doesn’t like him to be away from her, so he smokes outside the window on the stairs.”
“The fire escape?” Abel nods his head, and gets excited when Emy hands him crayons and paper.
“Mama said she’s trying to get daddy to smoking. But when I’m there I don’t hear her voice. I told him to lock the window. We went to daddy’s one day, and Posie’s car wasn’t there.”
“Did she go to the door like you do?” Abel shakes his head and continues drawing. “She uses the fire escape?”
“Yeah. She said that the neighbors dog tried to bite her. But this is a secret.”
“Abel, do you want your mom going through Posie and your dad’s window?”
“No. Can I…is it okay if I call Posie mom?”
“What do you think?”
Abel looks up at Emy and smiles again, before returning to his drawing, “She sings to me at night. And she’s busy but always spends time with me. Her and daddy took me to the zoo and to see the fish, and Papa makes me ice cream with special sprinkles. Kitty, she lets me bake cookies with her and Posie. And Grumpy, he he lets me sit in his lap with Poppy and we watch a movie until he starts snoring. And Lovie she lets me walk the dogs, and I help her clean up. I don’t do that with mama. There’s a lot of kids. Do you have kids too?” Emy gives him a single nod, her finger playing with her rings.
“Daddy, he got Posie a ring. But I can’t say that. It’s a secret, too. Is mama in the bad place because she did bad things?”
“What things did she do that was bad?”
Abel shrugs, finishing up a crude drawing of some bunnies, before picking up a book. “It’s not nice to sit in other people’s window. We were trying to catch up with Posie the other day. Mama said Posie was going too fast and they wouldn’t let her at Posie’s school, but I’ve been there with Posie and dad. It’s pretty.”
“You were trying to catch up to Posie?”
“Yeah, in her car. Posie was going to fast.”
“Abel, our time is up here buddy. You did good. Thank you for being honest.”
“Can I…I wanna meet your kid. Is it Posie’s aunt?”
Picking up the toys she gives him a calm smile, “They’re Posie’s cousins.”
“Miss Rogers?” the defense attorney sweetly says as she walks up closer to the podium, leaving Emy to glare at her.
“Mrs. Barnes.”
“I apologize Mrs. Barnes. What is your relation, in regards to a Miss Posie Rogers?”
Emy turns to look at her, her green eyes shining at Mrs. England. “You called me by my maiden name, so I assume you already know.”
“For the record, Mrs. Barnes. What is your relation to Miss Rogers?”
“She’s my niece.”
“From your half brother?” Emy grits her teeth looking at the lawyer but nods her head. “How close would you say the two of you are?”
“Miss Rogers was the only child in our families for twelve years. She was…”
“Objection,” Matt speaks out looking up at Judge Stark. “Relevance.”
“Just establishing relation of your client and the witness. The client that is intent on getting full custody of my client’s son.”
Matt stands up, his body facing towards Marilyn England, “Let the record show that Miss Rogers and Mr. Teller aren’t married, and neither were seeking full custody of his child. They’re seeking safety for a four-year-old little boy who’s mother is parading him around during all hours of the day and night so she can spy on Mr. Teller and Miss Rogers, while Miss Case and Mr. Teller’s son is in the car. That speaks not only to her parenting skills, but also the safety of my clients.”
“How did you obtain that evidence? The word of a four-year-old little boy that just found out who his father was? I’m sure he’s confused.”
“Order. Mrs. England, do you have a question for Mrs. Barnes? Or are you and Mr. Murdock going to argue in my courtroom?”
“Your honor, the validity of this evidence…”
“I suggest you look at the evidence presented to you. You called Mrs. Barnes up to the stand,” Judge Stark stares down at the prosecutor. “Mr. Murdock did not call her up. Finish your cross examination.”
Marilyn gives a nod to the judge and is looking back at Emy. “What did your session with Abel tell you?”
“He’s worried about a young lady he views as more of his mother. Asked if he could call her mom. Abel has mentioned on numerous occasions the window in his father’s room, and later found out Ms. Case was standing outside of it.”
“It’s the word of a young boy.”
“Objection,” Matt speaks, as Iris grabs ahold of his thigh. He only grunts once at her grip, and she loosens immediately. “Call in evidence forty-three. A cigarette butt, with Miss Case’s DNA, outside of Mr. Teller’s window. It is not just the word of a young boy, Mrs. England.”
“Mrs. England, everything was submitted in a proper amount of time. It is not Mr. Murdock’s fault you chose not to review everything. I’ll grant you a recess, but come back prepared.”

“Ris,” James follows his wife out of the bedroom and down the hallway. Using his longer legs to gain on her quickly. Gently reaching out for her arm, but she flinches away. “Iris, please.”
“You called me Iris,” her voice angry, but more hurt than anything. “Not Iris Jade. But Iris.”
“Because, you won’t stop and listen.”
“Why is it everything that she wants, she gets? Posie is my daughter. I say who she can and cannot see,” James’ never turns his face up in anger. It only softens. “Why? Tell me why she gets this?”
“Ris, Baby Doll, I know you’re angry,” she scoffs, but moves closer to his arms. “I was there. I know what happened.”
“And as my husband you should know why I don’t want her to see Posie yet. Everyone expects me to forgive so quickly. And I just can’t right now. The things she said about my mom. My dad. Her biological father. And she had no idea.”
“You’re right. She didn’t. She knew what that stupid little bitch was saying at school. Everyone wanted to keep that life away from Story and Blade, so she got an account from a girl who’s mother was in love with Andy.”
“Don’t say his name.”
James tilts his head to the side and kisses on Iris gently. “Story didn’t know how bad it was. Story was hurt and angry. Did you hear how her and Carter broke up? Iris I have never seen someone love the way they did. Besides us. I saw them. I heard Carter talk about Story and how he wanted to marry her. And when they broke up, she spiraled. She had this unresolved depression from me, from Harlan, from you, and Posie. She took care of Posie because she hurt so much for you. She would do it over and over again. But she bonded with our daughter. That baby became more than her niece and you know she did. So to keep Posie away from Story is unfair to both of them. Baby Doll, I know you’ll forgive Story in time. I have no doubt about that. I know that you need your time to get over everything that happened. But can you not admit that your sister spent nearly a year in rehab away from her family, when even Joshua, Bucky, and Dr. Banner said she craves touch. She was alone. She’s still alone and trying to navigate a sober life with Carter still refusing to talk to her. She misses you and Posie.”
“Jamey,” Iris sighs. Pressing her face firmly on his chest. “I’m just not ready.”
“I know. And I understand. And we will get through this, and the miscarriages, and the negative tests together. You and me. It’s always been you and me and it always will be. I’m not going anywhere. But our daughter misses her aunt. What are you scared of?”
“That she’ll love Story more than me,” James pushes Iris off of him, his hazel eyes moving all across her face and he leans forward to give her a kiss. “Story is the fun one. She doesn’t have the job I have so she can spend hours playing with Posie, and telling her those stories, and I’m just an anxious ball.”
“She’s the aunt. Of course she’s more fun. But you’re her mother. You. You were the woman who birthed her, and will love her no matter what she does. Posie will never love Story, the way she loves you. It’s not possible.”
Dodger comes around Iris, and starts pacing around. Licking at her hand. Sitting down, only to anxiously walk around her, before he gives her a demanding bark. “Will you stay with me?”
“I’m not going anywhere. We can have a day. Me and you,” Dodger barks loudly again, and James looks down at the good boy. “Dodger, too.”
“Fine. This isn’t a regular thing. And this doesn’t mean that I…”
“I know. You’re doing good Iris Jade Rogers.”

Posie sits on her Papa’s lap, just holding onto Ransom. Her little fingers playing with the back of his hair, just like her mama did when she was little. You and Story walks through the room, and you can already feel the happiness radiating off of Story.
“Hey, Princess Posie,” she says softly. Posie gets one look at who’s talking, and her face lights up immediately. Looking back at Ransom quickly, when Story squats down and holds her arms wide for her.
“Is it really you, Ree?” Story nods her head, and Posie rushes over to her. Knocking her backwards and she clings to her. With one sniffle from the little girl, Story knows she missed her as much as she missed Posie. “Don’t do that again. Don’t…I missed you so much.”
“I know baby. I know.”
She pulls back to look at Story, and the two of them wipe each other faces from the tears. “Can we have a tea party and you finish Lancelot and Guinevere’s story?”
Ransom and you go to move closer to them, making sure that name didn’t bother Story, but you’re little bitty baby just smiles, “Yes, we can finish it. Mimi has already set up a tea party in your room. Come on,” standing up, she holds out her hand to Posie who just clings to it. Holding her so tightly as to not lose her again.

“Princess?” Carter hums as the two of them lay in bed. His hand holds tight to Story’s swollen belly, and he gives Otto’s temporary home a rub. “There’s a little girl that wants to see you today.”
“No she doesn’t.”
Carter gives a sigh to Story, and continues petting along her stomach. “There is nothing that she wants more than to see you right now. You’re about to give her a cousin, and she won’t be alone anymore. I know you want to spend some time with her before Otto is here. I think she’s a bit concerned that he’s going to replace her.”
“No, he can’t. Me and Posie will always have tea parties and stories. She was my first little princess.”
“She set up a tea party all by herself. To be fair, it is milk, Biscoffs, and Uncrustables. But she did it…”
“Did she?” Story sits up smiling through her tears at Carter. He gives her a nod in answer. “Why have I been avoiding my pretty girl for so long?”
“You needed this time to process everything.”
“What I need,” she stands up and walks to the closet. Rummaging through a few outfits before throwing something on. “Is to spend time with a little girl who has always brought me happiness.”
Dressed, Story walks to Posie’s room and sees her niece waiting patiently at her table. Her tiered tray filled with a few snacks, and like Carter said Biscoffs and Uncrustables. “Hey, Princess Posie.”
“Aunt Ree, you came! I told mama and daddy you would. I set up everything by myself. It’s not as pretty as when Mimi does it. But I did this. And…oh, your baby. Can I touch your belly?”
For the first time in weeks, Story fully smiles. Nodding her head, she lets Posie walk over. Her hands hold onto her bump, before kissing it, ending with her laying on it. “I can’t wait to meet you Otto. You and I have the best mommies.”

Wendy clicks her fingers on the desk, waiting for the receptionist to go and talk with Iris. Looking extremely peeved and annoyed until the young girl walks into Iris’s office, and closes the door behind her. “Lola, is there a problem?”
“Iris, there’s a Wendy Case here to see you.”
“She can make an appointment just like everyone else,” Iris responds without looking up from the file she’s going over.
“She’s not really a fit as a client for you,” Iris lifts her head up, and tilts looking at Lola. “It’s a child support case.”
“Did you explain to her the type of lawyer I am?” Lola nods her head. “Fine, send her in. This should only take a moment,” rolling her eyes she straightens up her files, and turns around to put them in a cabinet before standing to shake the woman’s hand, “Mrs. Case...”
“Miss.”
“I apologize,” gesturing to the seat in front of her desk, Iris waits until Wendy sits down before she does herself. “I understand you’re wanting to file for child support?”
“Yeah, the father of my son, he’s a bit of a dead beat dad, refused to sign the birth certificate, and I was wondering what rights that I have to petition for child support.”
Iris huffs out a bit of air, and shakes her head. “Miss Case, this is really not my realm of things that I do. I’m a business lawyer. I don’t take on domestic...”
“You took on your sisters,” Wendy blurts out quickly leaving Iris to look at her oddly. “The high profile case.”
“This is nothing like her case, and that was my sister. I’m sorry Miss Case. I can get Lola to give you some names that would be better suited...”
“Could you please,” Wendy brings out her own file and hands it over to Iris. “I’m a single mother, and I’m on my lunch break. This was the closest office to my job. I didn’t...Things worked out well for your sister. I just need some help. Woman to woman,” Wendy looks at the picture of Iris’s family on her desk. “Beautiful family. I just want to do things right for my son.”
Iris takes a bit of pity on the woman. She still won’t take on the case, but she can at least offer her some legal advice. Handing over her documents, Iris looks over them, and her blood runs cold. “I know he’s working. Got a good job I hear. His mom...I went to her for money first, and she wouldn’t help me. Just gave me his information.”
“Miss Case, I can’t help you. If you could please, Lola will help you out.”
“Is there something wrong?” Wendy wants to smile at Iris’s reaction. Normally she’s calm and collected, not when it was dealing with her precious daughter.
“As I explained I’m not this type of lawyer. If you would like, Lola can give you some contact information, but I can help you no further than that. And if you would excuse me, I have a lunch to go to,” Iris stands to leave shooting a quick text to Lola to cancel her day.
She looks at her watch and knows she’s got enough time to talk to Posie before her lunch break. Unsure of how many laws she was breaking to get to this god forsaken daycare she walks through the door, and standing in the frame, “Miss Amy, I need to see Posie.”
“Oh, um, well, she’s about to take lunch break. Could this wait?”
“No,” Iris shakes her head rapidly. “I really need to see my daughter,” Amy opens the door to the classroom, and Posie spots her mom immediately. A little blonde boy sitting in her lap as she sings a song with him. Iris motions her daughter over to her, but when she tries to get up, the little boy clings to her, so she brings him along with her.
“Hey mom, this is Abel. Abel, this is my mom.”
“What?” Iris looks down at the boy, and she’s honestly surprised her daughter hasn’t caught on. Iris is nearly speechless looking at the boy, and can’t even tear her eyes away from him.
“You know, the little boy, I’ve been telling you about. He’s only been here a couple of months, but he’s become quiet attached, huh, buddy?”
“Posie, baby, I need to talk to you.”
Abel pulls at Posie’s dress, and those bright blue eyes look up at her, “Do I get to see daddy today?”
“What?” Posie looks over at the director Amy, because she was unaware that the father was even in Abel’s life.
“Posie, put him down. I need to speak to you. Now.”
“Is daddy coming to see you?” Abel asks again.
“Posie!”
“Iris, maybe you need to step outside,” Amy tries to pull Iris out but she shrugs the woman off, begging Posie again.
“Mom, is everything okay?”
“Miss Osie I wanna see daddy.”
She looks down at the little boy, “Abel, bud, I don’t know who your daddy is. Go sit with Miss Tasha, I need to speak with my mom now.”
Wendy knew where Iris was going. Didn’t spend the five minutes to get the extra information. Just drove slowly to the daycare. When she saw her speeding away, she knew she was going directly to her daughter. With a look at the clock in her phone, she knows it’s about lunch time and that Jax will also be coming by to see his precious Posie girl. Wendy revels in the chaos.
Posie tries to pull Abel off of her. “Abel, buddy please,” but he just keeps asking about his dad. She gets sight of Wendy walking through the door and sighs in relief, but Iris turns to block her daughter from Wendy. “Oh thank god, Abel is having a bit of a moment wanting to see his dad.”
“What are you doing here?” Iris asks through her teeth. Wendy grabs Abel out of Posie arms and gives a smile to Iris.
“Oh, maybe you were right. I don’t think you’d be a good fit for me,” almost on cue they hear the rumble of the bike, and Posie gets the biggest smile.
“Mom, you wanna talk over lunch?”
“Is that daddy?” Abel whispers. Posie doesn’t catch it because she’s already walking towards the door, but Iris stares horrified at the woman.
Jax walks in, his eyes only on Posie, and he pulls her in for a quick kiss, “Daddy!” and that’s when Jax looks up to see Wendy.
He pulls Posie behind him, backing them up towards the door, and eyes the woman that was nothing but pain in his life. Pure hatred and disdain in his eyes, “What is she doing here?” he spits out.
“Jaxy, that’s Abel’s mom. Why are you being so hateful.”
Wendy takes a few steps forward, and Iris goes to stand in front of Jax halting Wendy’s motions. “This is not the time or place.”
“Posie, honey, this is going to come as a shock.”
“Don’t you dare talk my daughter.”
Reaching her hand out she touches Posie’s arm only to have Jax slap it away, “Don’t touch her.”
“Daddy!” Abel shouts and smiles. The director looks between everyone and sees the pure fear in Iris’s eyes. About to ask everyone to leave.
“Jax? What’s going on?”
“Miss Amy, Posie, is taking the rest of the day off. Jax, get her to the estate now.”
“I think I’m going to have to go a different route with lawyers. This seems to be a conflict of interest.”
Iris takes another step in front of Posie and Jax, her eyes full of rage, “I told you when you walked in my office that I wasn’t that kind of lawyer. You sought me out for a reason, you conniving little...” with a look down to the young boy in Wendy’s arm she stops. “Jax, Posie, now!”
“Your daughter has a right to know who she’s been shacked up with. He’s got a kid that he doesn’t pay for,” she looks back to Jax with a sickening smile.
“I don’t have a kid.”
“Yes, Abel. The very child I hold in my arms. Do you not see the resemblance? It’s quite odd Posie is his favorite teacher, and she never noticed how he has your eyes.”
“Jax, I will not tell you again. Get her out of here before we have a scene,” Jax nods his head, and turns to leave. His usual routine of buckling her helmet, but her eyes are blank. Even kissing her lips, she doesn’t return the gesture.
“What kind of mother lets her precious daughter on the back of a bike with someone with a rap sheet. She’s got her whole life to live. Eighteen. Going to Harvard.”
Iris looks the woman dead in the eye, the violent urge to slap her, so she starts scratching at her wrists. “How did you know that?”
“Such a shame.”
“You stay away from her,” Iris whispers. Her head shakes around, “You have no idea who you’re messing with.”
“Careful Iris. You’d hate for me to be coming after your money with your idle threats. I just want child support that is rightfully mine. You wouldn’t understand. Growing up rich, married young, and into a family that was well off. I do my research too,” Wendy smiles, heading out the door.
Iris quickly walks after her. “He didn’t even know did he? Dead beat dad refused to sign the birth certificate? You’re such a fucking liar. From now on, your lawyer can contact me in regards to Jackson Teller’s case. And if you know what was good for you, you’d stay away from my daughter,” Miss Amy pokes her head out of the door, “James and I will be by later to get Posie’s car. And I want her pulled from that room, or she won’t be working,” Amy nods, closing the door, and Iris tries to leave. Attempts to walk to her car, but Wendy starts again.
“Fighting her battles?” Iris turns back to glare at her, noticing how Abel is now in the car. “You want to act like the perfect mother. Act like you’re so much better than me. But look at who you allow your daughter to be around. You better be careful. She could end up in the same boat I am.”
“This is your final warning. And I don’t make threats. You stay away from her. Under no circumstance do you contact her. You have no reason to stalk my daughter. You don’t talk to her, you don’t look at her, and you will refrain from calling Jax that child’s father, until a paternity test is performed. Miss Case, if I were you, I’d be afraid. You’ve pissed off the wrong person today. Now back off of my daughter.”
As soon as the bike pulls into the drive Posie is jumping off, ripping her helmet off she throws it on the ground, glaring at Jax, who is looking at her like a lost puppy. Iris not far behind, and Posie waits for her mother as she tries the find the words to say. When the first tear rolls down her cheek is when Jax loses it.
Posie looks to the front door to see her grandparents walk out happy, but then their face falls, “What the hell was that?” she almost whispers staring only at Jax, but he shakes his head. “What the hell was that, Jax?!” her voice raising.
“Squeakers, I have no idea.”
“Posie...” Iris closer, but Posie only steps back holding her hand up.
“No, no, no. Jax, a son. You have a son? A fucking son,” her body paces in the driveway. “You lied to me. This whole time, you’ve been keeping a secret from me. You have a son. One that I was getting attached to. When were you ever going to say something?”
Jax calmly walks to her side, placing his hands to her shoulders, before pulling her into him. “I don’t have a kid. And I know know what that was all about.”
“Jackson...”
“Mrs. Drysdale, I promise, I don’t know what’s going on,” Kitten nods her head at him, pulling Ransom closer to her. “Posie, I’m not lying. I don’t know.”
“Mom? What was that? Mimi?” she pouts up at her grandma, “Is Oakie here?”
“I’ll go get him, baby. He’s in the house with James.,” Posie’s face falls, and she starts crying again. Ransom walks closer to the couple, because he knows things could get worse.
Iris tries to stay calm. Only wanting to get to the bottom of all of this. Understand from Jax’s point of view what is going on. But she can’t remove those little boy’s eyes from her mind. Identical to Jax’s. What she does know is that Wendy is up to no good. And worse. Her husband is about to be beyond pissed.
Oakley spots his sister and runs to her arms, and she holds onto him tightly, waiting on everyone to talk. Her fingers comb through his soft curls, before dropping her hand, and reaching for Jax’s. Weaving her fingers in his, and she can see him sigh in relief. “You, sit,” Iris points at the stairs, talking to James.
“You just got here. What could I have possibly done?”
“Jamey, I mean it. You listen until everyone is done speaking. Jax, you care to tell me who that vile woman was?”
“An acquaintance of my mother’s.”
“That’s it?” Iris asks annoyed. “Is there any merit to what she said?”
Jax looks at Posie, before back at Iris, “I can’t.”
“Does she have any grounds...”
“She paid my mother to get to me. I wasn’t a child, but I was too young. That woman took advantage of me. Our relationship was toxic, and it was her manipulating me. And...”
“Jax, sweetheart,” Kitten calmly says, walking over to Jax, and cups his cheek. “That’s enough. Only if you want to.”
“Posie, I’m sorry.”
“No,” Kitten shakes her head, “You don’t have to apologize for what someone did to you. Now, Iris, you and Jax need to enlighten the rest of us as to what this emotional fiasco is all about.”
Iris takes a deep, and walks over to her husband, pulling up his hand, she gives it a soft kiss before placing it at her heart, “The woman, Wendy, came into my office today seeking child support,” she turns to look at everyone else in the driveway, “I explained, I wasn’t that type of lawyer, but I agreed to look over what she had. She’s claiming that Jax is Abel’s father.”
“What?” James goes to stand up, glaring at Jax. “Abel? That kid that Posie has been talking about for months?” James growls out, only to have Ransom put a strong hand on his shoulder. “What kind of trash are you bringing around my daughter.”
“Dad! He just started going there.”
“Yeah, not long after you started working there. What a week, two weeks? And you haven’t been involved with Jax that long. So you’re trying to tell me this is all a coincidence?”
“Stop!” Posie shouts. Her body now the one standing in front of Jax. Still clinging to her little brother.
“Sir, I didn’t know about the boy. I promise you, I did not know about him.”
“Ris,” James turns to his wife. Exhausted from the anger that is coursing through his veins, “What do we do?”
“I’m going to take on Jax’s case. Her lawyer can go through me.”
“Ris.”
“I’m representing Jax. He’s not going to be manhandled by some court appointed chum. This may not be my forte, but I won’t let him be swindled by her.”
“Mrs. Rogers, I don’t deserve this.”
“You’re damn right you don’t,” Iris stares at him with tears in her eyes. Softening when she sees Posie recoiling into his body. His hand calmly wrapping around her and Oakie. “But if my daughter is choosing to be with you, then you get her family. Posie, do you understand what is going on?” Posie stares at nothing, just frozen. “Posie, baby?”
“Oh Oh?” Oakley gives a few taps to Posie’s face, and gives her a big smile. “Mommy talking to you.”
She turns to look at Jax, “Look at me, and tell me you didn’t know. Jax, don’t lie to me.”
“I didn’t know about that kid. And I had known that Wendy was in that close of proximity to you...Squeakers, I don’t want you near her. I don’t want you to see her, and I don’t want her around you at any point,” he leans his forehead against her, whispering a soft, “I love you.”
“I love you, too, Jaxy. I wanna go home.”
“Okay, Posie, I’ll take you and Oakie with me,” Posie’s eyes never leave Jax’s. Almost ignoring her father’s words.
“I’m going home with Jax.”
“Posie...”
“No, dad, don’t do this. I’m going home, with Jax. Mom, I appreciate you helping him, but he doesn’t deserve this. He was taken advantage of, she had a baby without him knowing. He’s my home now. I don’t like this, but we’ll get through it. Daddy, I want you to realize, that while you don’t like him, he’s so much like you. He works hard, he loves me, and he takes care of me. He...he stood in front of me when she tried to get me. He gives me space and quiet time for me to do my homework and study. He’s my home...and now I’m going with him.”
“Oh Oh.”
“I’m sorry Oakie, but I gotta go home.”
“I miss you, though. Oh Oh and Yackie stay?” she shakes her head no at her brother, and starts to hand him to her Mimi, “Please.”
“I’ll come by tomorrow and we’ll spend the day together, okay?”
“Promise?”
“I promise. Now, give me a kissy,” he grabs her face and squishes his lips harshly against hers.
“Posie Sarah Rogers, you’re not going anywhere with him. You are staying here, and we’re going to discuss this like a family.”
“Jax is my family, too. This is his life we’re talking about, and I just need a moment away from this. Give me a moment to breathe and process, and when you’re not glaring daggers at someone who didn’t ask for any of this, then I will talk with you. Jax,” she pulls his face to look at her. “Please, I’m ready to go home.”
Jax looks around for confirmation as to what he should do. Wanting to give Posie a moment to breathe, but still feeling like there’s some unfinished business. “Take her home Jax. We’ll talk tomorrow as a family.”
“Mr. Drysdale?”
“Jax, you are welcome here at our home anytime,” Ransom turns to glare at James whose fists are clenched tight. “We’ll see you two tomorrow,” Jax nods his head, and like always fastens Posie’s helmet, while he sits on the bike. This time she leans in for her kiss, before crawling on and they roll down the driveway.
“I can’t believe you,” James huffs out. “Do you realize what you just did?”
“Iris, take Oakley inside, so I can have a chat with James.”
“Daddy.”
“Kitten, you go, too. Start scooping out some ice cream. Iris picks up Oakley, and walks to James, giving him a lingering kiss to his cheek, staring up at him, until he looks back down to her, mouthing I love you to each other before her and her mother walk inside.
“James, this is not your smoking gun. You don’t know what it’s like to see the person you love be taken advantage of sexually. I have. I did it, and I watched it be done, and I heard what my wife went through. What Posie showed today was maturity far beyond her eighteen years of life. You know that tells me? She loves that boy with every fiber of her being. She found out that he may have fathered a child while being taken advantage of. Like my wife, your mother-in-law. Son, I know you’re angry. I know you’re pissed off, and you’re hurt, and confused, and you want to hit something, maybe murder something. But you’re at your end when it comes to your daughter. She has shown time and time again that she she chooses him, and he’s choosing her. She’s chosen her person.”
“You were never this calm with me.”
“Was I not? You were in high school sneaking around. This...this is different. Posie is an adult. She just found out her boyfriend was sexually manipulated and could possibly have a child. Do you understand that? Do you understand all that’s running through her mind right now? She reacted like an adult.”
James scoffs, “She’s forgiven him, and he’s shown he doesn't deserve it.”
“She’s going to talk to him. That’s what Posie does. She talks to her people. She wants to hear his side of the story. She’s being far more mature than I could have been at that age. And if that child is proven to be his, she’s the one that has to make the decision on what she wants to with that. Not you. And be prepared. She’s already determined that the child is his. She’s spent the last few months talking about him, like she knew before she knew that this was Jax’s baby.”
“This is so fucked up. That...she’s my baby.”
“I know. She’s all of our baby. I know she’s your daughter, but we all stepped up when they couldn’t find you. We all got attached to that beautiful little girl. She’s terrified. She loves him, and they need to work it out. Iris is doing what’s right, even though she hates it. Don’t you push her away either, because that is my baby.”
Walking over to the steps James sits down. Slumped over, he drops his head into his hands, “She’s too young.”
“You were too young to go missing. Iris was too young to raise a baby without her father. I know she’s too young, and so is he. James, he didn’t ask for this. His life was turning around for the better, and you can’t deny that.”
“Ransom...”
“No, because the last time I pushed the way you are, you remember that? Story Drysdale happened. And where did she end up? Right back in the person’s arms, that I refused her to be in. Except do you remember the pain she went through? The pain we went through not knowing where the hell she was? The pain Carter went through? How many nights did you have to go to your friend and hold him? Make him vomit because he swallowed a bottle full of pills. Drug his ass to the ER. Do you want her to suffer like that? Your daughter, you would want that life for her?”
“I don’t want any of this for my daughter,” James cries looking up at Ransom, pleading for him to understand his side. “She’s too good for this.”
“Too good for love? For true love, her person? James, that’s selfish.”
“That’s really what you think this is?”
“Yeah,” Ransom sighs, sitting beside James, “Because he looks at her, the way you still look at my baby.”
“I hate him.”
“Do you really? He’s been good to Posie. She’s doing amazing in school. I have never seen our Posie look so happy. She’s always felt a little out of place. Such a gap between her and Otto and Ellie. Twelve years between her and the twins. He gives her a place. She’s glowing.”
“No. I don’t hate him. I hate this. All of this. My daughter’s life. This isn’t how this was supposed to be for her.”
Ransom wraps an arm around James, and pulls him into him. “We don’t get to choose how our life goes. I wouldn’t have chosen the life you had. I never would have had you go missing. I would have had you coming home to my daughter. Would have had you know that she was carrying your baby, and you would have been there, and held her hand, not your dad. But, life teaches us lessons. And Posie is learning about the difficulties of love. This situation sucks balls...no, that’s good. This situation sucks sewage water. And she still calmly got on the back of that bike. You know what that tells me?” James gives Ransom a shrug. “That he’s worth it to her. Now, I’m going to make sundaes. Do you want magic sprinkles?”
“Can I have dad’s red, white, and blue ones?”
“Yeah. Why don’t we call the old man and Marta. Catch them up on what’s going on,” Ransom starts to walk inside, leaving James still sitting on the steps. “James?” he turns to look at him. “It’s not their fault. It’s not your fault. This is their path. Instead of fighting your daughter growing up so bad, enjoy the time you have with her. Pretty soon, she’ll have kids of her own, and you won’t get to see her as much. But when you have a good relationship with her, they come around more. Drop off their kids with you more. That daughter of yours, she needs her dad right now. So does he. If that kid is Jax’s, and they stay together, they’ll need help. And I need you on your game, because Wendy, sounds like a bitch.”

"Maybe you should go to the doctor,” Jax shouts through the door that Posie refused to open. “Posie, just let me in.”
“Jax, go aw...” is the only thing she can respond before she’s hovering back over the toilet.
“I’m calling your mom.”
"No, it’s a twenty-four hour bug, I’ll be fine.”
He paces around in the living room, until his girlfriend comes out of the bathroom looking completely drained and exhausted. Flopping down on the couch, before she grabs up her laptop. “Seriously?”
“What?”
“You were just throwing up, and you’re going right back to studying?” with a roll of her eyes she goes back to typing on her computer. “You’ve not been yourself lately.”
“I’m stressed. I’m nervous about midterms, and I’m...I, I, I’m just exhausted. There’s a lot going on in our lives. This fucking case, that crazy ass woman, and when I’m at home with you, Abel, and Opie, I’m fine. It’s just a lot. I’m trying,” her hand rubs at her belly, and she tries to still the nausea that still creeps up her throat. “I’m fine. My mom went to law school pregnant, my dad was MIA, and I’m fine. This is just early childhood...” she holds up a finger at him, still refusing to be sick again. “I’m fine.”
“You’re sick, and you’re not letting me help. At least let me call your mom,” she shakes her head no. “Is this because the comment she made about you looking like you’ve put on weight?”
“I’m stress eating.”
“Let me call Lo, Story, or your grandma, then. Please?”
Posie pouts up at him, and she herself is getting tired of feeling this way. “Call Mimi.”
“Ms. Rogers?” the doctor says looking over her paper work, “What seems to be the problem.”
“I’m sick, and I’m not getting better.”
“It’s been quite sometime since your last period.”
Posie looks over at her grandmother, and then back at the doctor, “I’m on birth control.”
“There’s usually some form of bleeding. Was there?” Posie shakes her head no, “You’re sexually active?” looking embarrassed Posie tries to look at anything, but the two people in the room.
“Oh, good grief, Pose, you live with your boyfriend. You share a bed. I’m pretty sure I know that you’re having sex.”
“Fine! We have sex regularly, what are you getting at?”
“Before we go any further, I’m going to get you to take a pregnancy test.”
“Why?” Posie comically laughs at him. “I’m on birth control.”
“While effective, it’s not one hundred percent, you have to take it correctly, and...”
“I do. I, I, I...Jax and I we have alarm, and I take it everyday at the same time, and I’ve never missed. You’re joking right? We have a plan...a very specific five year plan. We’re at year one, so we have four to go.”
The doctor looks at Posie regretfully, “It may just be nothing. You’re right stress can cause a lot of these symptoms, but let’s take the easiest route, and rule out pregnancy first. Then we’ll go from there. No need to get all upset.”
Posie paces around the living room, thankfully it’s not their weekend to have Abel, because she’s a wreck. She knows that it’s only going to get worse when Jax walks through the door, and even worse when she talks to anyone but her grandmother. Shocked, is an understatement. This wasn’t the plan, but with a hand pressed on her stomach, she’s not angry. Confused and scared are much better terms.
She knows exactly what Jax is going to say, and she’s not here for it. She already made up her mind, and the sexiest man ever is not going to change it. Although, she hopes that her predictions are wrong. Her Mimi was shocked at how calm Posie was. It hadn’t fully sunk in, and it wouldn’t until he walked through the door.
Jax takes the final draw of cigarette, disposing it before walking up to the apartment. Excited about a weekend alone with his girl. Opie was off with some new girl, and no plans of coming home, and Abel was with Wendy. It was just the two of them, and he was ready. Spring was barely in the air, and that daisy field was looking amazing.
“Posie...” he says walking through the door. Assuming she would be taking a nap, but there she was creating a worn spot in the carpet. “Squeakers, what’re doing? What did the doctor say?”
“Sit down,” not how he saw this conversation. He goes to sit on the couch, and Posie paces around a bit more before sitting with him, only to stand, and then sit back down. “That was an interesting doctor’s visit.”
“So there’s nothing wrong? It’s all stress related?” Posie shakes her head. Her hand goes to her stomach, and she takes a deep breath. “Posie?”
“I’m...I’m not mad,” she takes a deep breath putting a hand on his thigh. “I’m a bit shocked and confused, but I’m not mad.”
“I’m the one who is confused right now.”
“I’m pregnant,” Jax shakes his head laughing at her, but she pull his hand to place on her stomach. “I’m pregnant. I wouldn’t joke about this.”
“You’re on birth control.”
“It’s not always effective even when properly used. Fourteen weeks,” Jax shakes his head no, until she lays ultrasound pictures in his lap. “That’s our baby. He, uh, the doctor took a guess as to the sex. It’s a bit early, but he thinks it’s a girl.”
“We had a plan.”
“Our plans suck,” it isn’t until Posie licks her lips, tasting the salty tears, before she realizes that she was crying. “I’m not mad. But...I want her.”
“You’re attached.”
“She’s our daughter.”
“He’s guessing that she’s a girl. But you’re already attached. How does this happen?”
“Well, I figured you would know. How many times did you enjoy cumming inside me,” Jax tils his head to the side, ready to make another comment. “It happened. I don’t have to be here, but I want to.”
“What is this?” his brows furrow as he looks over her body. “What are you saying?”
“If you don’t want me here. There’s an empty room beside mine at the estate. Mimi said we can make that a nursery. I don’t...”
“Posie, I’ll let you lead this. I want us to have kids. This just isn’t our plan. And I’m not forcing you...”
“I want her or him or whatever. I want them. I didn’t want it this way, but...my mom she did the pregnancy thing in college. She did it without my dad. I can do this. I know that there’s Abel, but he’s such a good kid. We’ve been balancing. There’s other women that have babies while they’re in college, and they don’t have the support that we have. We can do this. I’ll do it alone, but I don’t...”
“You are not taking our baby anywhere, but in that bedroom so I can kiss all over your stomach and cry at the same time. Squeakers,” he pulls her hands into his looking all over her face. “I feel as if I did this to us. Since being with me your life has been uprooted, and...”
“You’re worth all that. Jaxy, I love you. This isn’t our plan, but I’m not mad.”
“Shh, let me finish,” he gives her a kind smile, and moves a hand to cup her cheek. “I want kids with you, but this isn’t our plan. Hence being happy and crying all at the same time. I can be happy, and scared, and confused as to why this shit keeps happening to us. But mostly, I am happy.”
“Good. Now about that kissing all over my stomach,” leaning towards her, he tickles all along her sides, and pulls up her shirt. Seeing this tiny little bump, that he thought was caused from stress eating. “That’s our daughter.”
“Son of a bitch,” Iris slams a case file down, and rubs her temples. “Please, go away.”
“No,” Matt responds sitting down in front of her. “What’s got you pissed off now?”
“For starters we’re not making any leeway on this Wendy business, even though I know, I feel it in my gut that there’s something sinister going on. Abel asked me if his mom knew where I lived and where the estate was. Kept talking about windows. So that’s weird. My daughter mysteriously turns up pregnant, and her and her boyfriend, and Opie, and even Abel swore she took her birth control every night. Matt, you’ve met her, and as someone that is sight challenged, and reads people well, what do you take from all this?”
“Honestly, I think it’s just unfortunate events,” Iris scoffs and leans back. “No, you’re right. But we need something tangible. You wanna build a case against her? Fine, Jax said that she had a history of drugs. Could it be possible that she’s on drugs again? Like you said, why is she all of a sudden interested in Jax?” he stops only to have Iris pick up her phone, when she sees Posie calling her.
“Hey, sweetheart.”
“Mom, could you do me a favor and pick up my prenatal vitamins? The group study is going a bit longer, and I won’t get back before they close. Jax will be at the apartment.”
“Yeah, what’s the pharmacy,” Posie gives her the name and address, and says goodbye, before Iris starts scrambling around her notes. Lifting up that paper that shows Wendy’s place of employment.
"Piece of shit.”
“What?”
“This can’t be a coincidence that Posie’s pharmacy where she is having me pick up her vitamins is the same one that Wendy works at. I need a subpoena, yesterday.”
“Woah, woah, woah,” Matt holds up his hands, trying to not only calm Iris but talk through it. “Circumstantial.”
“Posie has never mentioned seeing Wendy. Jax swore that she was taking her pill like clockwork. Everyone of them said that. She has that kind of access to my daughter’s medication, and that is troublesome and high suspicious. I’m not getting anything from her. They have over the counter prenatal pills,” Iris picks up her phone and starts dialing a number.
“Who are you calling?”
“JJ, I need a favor,” Matt settles back rolling his eyes. “I need you to dig into Wendy Case’s history for the past year. See if she’s bought anything suspicious.”
“What is this about?”
“Not ready to talk about it fully, until after a family dinner announcement. But that cunt is up to something. Anything.”
“Why me and not Blade?”
“Because, I think her birth control was tampered with. And who better to contact than a man who was there for my mother after hers was tampered with. JJ we need the utmost discretion on this. I don’t care if you dig into their camera and see her switching anything out with Posie. I need answers, and you’re the man for the job. And preferably if you could find something legally so we can actually charge her with something. Dammit, I hope that they still have some of those birth control pills. I need those tested. I already warned that woman not to mess with me. Now, she’s getting my Drysdale side.”
Iris hangs up the phone, and starts grabbing for her things. “Iris, settle down.”
“No, I’ve got too much to do.”
“Work inside of the law if you want this to stick. You’re not doing Posie and Jax any favors if you do things illegally.”
“I want to catch her. I want her drug tested, and I need to get those pills tested. I told you, I got a bad feeling about her. I’m calling Emy, too. Abel will be evaluated whether it’s thrown out or not. She’s done something and he’s seen it. What kid asks if someone is going to hurt Posie? He’s been concerned. He’s three-years-old. He’s a kid that wants to be loved. But that woman. She’s messed with the wrong family.”
“Think rationally. I want justice for everyone involved. Iris,” she stops to turn and look at her friend and partner. “We both want the same thing. In the courtroom I’m taking lead,” she whispers out a no, but deep down she knows it’s the right call. “You need to be a mother. Let me be the lawyer.”
“Fine. Now let me be the detective.”
“Did you call Solo?”
“Carter, hired him less than a week ago. There’s not been an update. Can I please, go and help my daughter now?”
“Get out of here,” Matt responds, going to his own files, and trying to come up with a legal plan, while Iris will do anything to get to the bottom of this. But he can’t help but think that Iris is right. Iris has always had great intuition, and this is her daughter. He knows she won’t stop, so he has to work fast. Wendy doesn’t have any idea just who she’s messing with, but she will sooner rather than later.
wait wait wait so do the grand baby’s parents tell them about jumping on the bed or do their grandparents tell them about it when they’re babysitting and wanting some time together lmao?
Oh this is going to be an ONGOING thing! The kids will carry the whole jumping on the bed to their kids. Because, lets be honest it's hilarious and cute. Plus it's an inside joke with their family.

The ever growing Drysdale clan sit out beside the pool, you talking to Blade's fiancé, while his large tattooed hands hold tightly to his baby. Squishing her face and she just gives the biggest giggles up to her daddy. Ransom is never too far away from his newest granddaughter, but his face also beams at your only son. You had wondered if that boy would ever settle down, and for once, you approved of the girl.
Iris stands close to James, manning the grill, randomly giving the other a tight squeeze to the others asses. Aster and her second husband, far superior in every way, play in the pool with all the kiddos. Story gazes at her husband gripping tightly onto their two youngest sons, and her hands rub along the next growing son inside of her. "Another boy, huh?" Blade chuckles giving her elbow a little tap with his foot.
"Oh hush. We'll have no problem trying for a girl again, will we handsome?" she yells over at Carter, and he just smirks at her, giving his sons a little kiss. Story's oldest boy stands behind his favorite uncle Blade staring down at the baby.
"That’s my baby Bwade?"
"Yes, buddy. But we're sharing her okay? This is my baby, too," Otto pouts up at Blade, giving him a playful growl, but when Blade reaches out to tickle him, he breaks his angry face.
"Fine. I’ww be Wo's baby."
"But I'm Lo's baby!" Blade juts his lip out to his fiancé, and its Story that kicks at her brother.
"You're arguing with a ten year old. Stop it. And please could you quit squishing that sweet girls face?"
"She loves it though! Listen at her giggle."
Story watches her brother, and how enthralled he is with the little baby, "I can't believe that someone talked you into having a baby. And it was all planned," she gets another playful kick. "Hey, I'm just saying. How old are you mister? Forty-five?"
"I'm thirty-three. And just so we're clear, Lo is the only one I've ever hit it raw with. Thank goodness. Could you imagine me having a kid with the donut?" Story retches, and even Ransom grimaces. "What? If I have to hear about your knight in shining armor having a big dick, from your SON, you're going to hear about me not wrapping it before I tap it."
"Woah! Way out of line. Story, have you learned nothing from me and your mother? We don't just talk about that."
"We weren't even jumping on the bed. I was sitting on the counter, and felt a little poke, and I giggled," Story's voice rolls with laughter.
"This is so wrong. Hand me the squishy girl, Blade," Ransom pulls at his granddaughter. His own hands squishing over her cheeks, like those chubby cheeks are his own stress ball.
"No! Mom, that's not what happened. You cawed daddy a big penis because he said something siwwy. And then he put me to bed so you can jump on da bed," Story’s face falls when you realize which time Otto was referring to.
"That's even worse buddy. How about you go check on Lo and Mimi, this conversation is getting weirder. Oh great, look who's getting out of the pool now," sure enough, Carter emerges from the pool, handing off Brooks to her, and she kisses around his hair.
"You wanna babysit?" he winks at Blade. "Kidding, honestly," throwing up a hand in surrender, before leaning to give Story a kiss.
"You and Lucy are way too open with your jumping on the bed."
"Well, at least we don't live with mom and dad. Little Lucifer says she's never leaving the estate."
"That's why your mother and I are building them a cottage. Far away."
Blade laughs, "You tired of hearing about Lucy's big cocked boyfriend?" Ransom swats at his arm, and Blade rubs along the spot. "Still got it, dad. Ouch."
"Now that, is a fine man," Blade's face turns up in disgust, and even Carter looks at her shocked. "Don't get me wrong Baizen, I love your clean bare skin, but him with those tattoos and piercings."
"You're sick. You're married," Blade looks over at Lo talking to his mom, but even their attention is going to their conversation.
"What? You haven't checked that man out? Blade, he's taller and thicker than you. Mom checks him out."
Blade's head turns quickly to look at you, and you nod your head, "Lo, doesn't."
"I do babe," he grabs his chest, pretending to faint. "I mean, that lip piercing and nipples, you know that man has more pierced."
Lucy walking in leans over her brother, "He does," Blade groans loudly. "Me too," giving him a wink, his fingers go in his ears growling out a lalalalalala.
"Luciana Violet Drysdale! That was uncalled for. To your room immediately. You may be grown, but you live here, my house, my rules," Ransom points a finger back to the house, and Lucy shrugs walking back.
"Dad," Ransom turns to look at Blade, "Not to call out your punishment, but, Chris isn't out here. He's in the estate. You just sent her to her room. Wonder what they're going to do to pass the time."
"Jump on the bed?" Everyone stares at the little Otto who's big blue eyes shine between the family. "I'm wight, huh? Can I go jump on the bed too?"
James and Iris 🥺 you know these two are seriously undefeatable. They've been through so much together, and they're still so strong, and better together. When you talk about soul mates, it's without a doubt, these two. Lifelong friends, and grew into so much more. There will never be another James Carter Rogers just like there will never be another Iris Jade Drysdale-Rogers.

James grabs onto his wife’s hand as he pulls her out onto the dock. She loved being out on the water. Had a bond with it much like she did with her Pops. Iris takes a deep breath, smelling the briny air, and smiles up at her forever love.
The boy she could never get enough of, turned into the man she wanted to experience everything with. “You ready?” James asks, jumping into the new boat. He holds up a hand for her to grab, and assists her in.
“Always ready for you.”
“Don’t I know it,” he cockily responds. His mouth already on her neck, as his nibbles at the sensitive skin. Admiring how her body just responds. Arching into his, and her hands pull at his hips.
He spins her body guiding the both of them to the steering wheel before drawing up the anchor. “Remind me to thank my best friend for letting us have this for a week,” he answers before standing behind her. James places his hands on her dainty ones, and he lets out a sigh of relief when her butt barely rubs over his crotch.
“Save that for later.”
“I thought you would like that, Sarge,” Iris tilts her head back to look up at his handsome face. Using her fingers to trace over the lines in his skin. Noting the happy smile lines around his mouth and eyes.
He keeps his eyes on the water. The sun making his hazel eyes even brighter and more golden than before.
“We’ve had a good life, huh, Baby Doll?”
“The best. Well, once we got there. But I’ll take the bad, as long as it’s with you.”
Without looking at her, James gives a quick kiss to her forehead before she looks back out at the horizon. Nothing but water, and a week of just her and her Jamey.
It was true, Iris believed she could not have done this life without him by her side. And there was no part of her life that James didn’t get to experience with her. He was her constant. The most steady and happiest parts of her life always included him.
She isn’t sure why she got to be so lucky to spend her whole life with her best friend. With the love of her life as he so affectionally called himself. But she didn’t care. She would take whatever curve ball that life threw her, as long as he was in her life.
She quickly shimmies away from him, to set up an easy lunch that they can have on deck, just floating in the water. The boat was immaculate, but sometimes she still missed her Pops’ more modest boat.
James drops the anchor into the water and waits on his pretty little wife to bring up the food, smiling fondly when she sets it down, and his thick hands pulls her onto his lap, while he tickles and kisses her.
Still acting like the kids that they never seemed to grow out of. Stopping only to feed the other strawberries, and he pulls back to look at the ocean, “Iris, you know I love you.”
“Oh, don’t you do that. There’s a but there. Don’t start our week alone with a but.”
Leaning her more over on his lap, so he can smack her ass, he puts her back where she started, “This is the only butt that’s important. And yes, but, I feel we’re selling ourselves short.”
“How so?”
“You’re the best mom. You love our babies,” she cups his cheek, pulling him down to look at her, and she sees his hazel eyes go glossy.
“Jamey,” her voice coos.
“We have the best life that I could imagine. But, I know you wanted a life like your mom’s. We’re almost there.”
“We have a granddaughter. She’s only a year old. We have a grandson that’s five and a half, and he constantly reminds of such.”
James shakes his head out of her grasp, and looks out on the water. “I know there’s more to life than kids. But that’s one of my favorite things about you. You never skip a beat. For this insecure teenager, you are a fierce mother. An even fiercer lawyer. You amaze me.”
Iris moves her attention out to the water, following James’ eye sight as she takes a deep breath in. “What if it’s another girl. What if Poppy or this new girl fall in love with a military man. Which you said would be the bane of your existence. Not wanting them to experience what I did. What then?”
“You know what I learned from Posie?” Iris waits for James to continue his thoughts. Burying her face into his chest, and smelling the familiar peachy scent.
“I learned that we can’t control life. Posie did everything right, until she met Jax. But that’s what was right for me. When she met him, she, finally, did what was right for her. I couldn’t stand him, but that man…ugh, he loves her. He’s good for her and those kids. He gave her strength when she was giving up. And she fought to be back to him and her babies. She never hesitated to step up for Abel. Before even knowing he was Jax’s, she loved that boy. It was like her heart knew he was apart of Jax. She looks past his flaws. And her life has been unpredictable because of him, but she’s happy.”
“She is.”
“And they made a damn cute baby. But, I’ve got the fever,” he changes the tone of his voice, trying to lighten the mood. “And I’m a bit jealous none of the kids are named after my mom.”
“Jamey,” Iris pouts, and he finally turns to look at her. Giving her a hard kiss to her lips. “Six months.”
“I don’t know what that means.”
“It means, I give you six months to get what you want.”
James smiles, only for it to fall quickly. “I want you to want it too.”
“I want you. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. If you’re happy, I’m happy. For better or worse.”
“For better or worse,” he smiles down at her so big. “Does that mean,” he pushes the two of them onto the floor. His hand already snaking up her leg. “We get to start now?”
“You ready for the six months to start now?”
“This is a free week. It’s our anniversary.”
“Which one again?”
“I’m offended. This is our wedding anniversary, Ris. But this is a freebie. It just is. You know it is.”
Iris grabs onto James bulge through his jeans, and giggles. “I know we better go below deck, because people can see us.”
James lifts up off her body, flipping his hat around, as he smiles looking all around them. “There’s no one here.”
“Jamey, take the hat off.”
“Nope,” he growls onto he, kissing along her sea salty skin. His teeth nipping at her neck, and she’s a combination of giggling and whimpering.
He starts to rip off her shirt, before shakes her head, “Don’t you dare, this is one of my favorites,” before sitting up to remove it herself.
“God, I love you. Like really honestly, love you, but you’re also so fucking hot. You dress like the president of the PTO, and I’m sure nobody would realize how much of a slut you are for James Rogers,” he pulls off his own shirt, before hovering back over her.
Iris’s finger traces over her name on his chest. Since Chris had fixed it, it looked much better, and less faded. “You’re insufferable.”
“And you are a whore. No part of your body I have not discovered,” he leans over her kissing down her body. “I believe I know your body better than I do mine.”
“Jamey,” his goofy self looks back up at her with a smile. That mouth still threatening to continue its descent, giving her belly button a mere whisper of a kiss.
“You realize literally every part of me is yours? We’ve shared it all together. And you’re still my favorite.”
“I’m trying to be sexy, and you’re getting sappy,” he sits up with a huff, pulling her body into his. The two of them looking out onto the water again, but Iris snuggles close to him.
“I’m serious. All of it. I’ve experienced with you.”
“You have never experienced a breakup.”
“Uh, we have,” James shakes his head no, disgusted at even the thought. “Yes, in fourth grade. That stupid girl, Kelli, she was holding your hand. And you thought it was okay.”
“That doesn’t count.”
“I was heartbroken. That hand is mine.”
“Damn right it is. This hand has been all over and up in your shit,” he gives her a hard kiss to her cheek. “Fine, it counts. Just so we can say we experienced it.”
He turns her body to face him. His finger guiding over the lace of her bra, but his eyes on her blue green ones. “You know, I think the universe was telling us we wouldn’t have a long time with Posie.”
“Why would you say that?” he asks with a groan.
“We got twelve years of just her. Twelve years of our beautiful little girl that played the guitar and would sing. She loved to bake, and have tea parties. She would only snuggle with you, when she wanted to. And was the only grandchild on all sides for six years. Twelve amazing years of just us three. And then Thorne, Poppy, and Oakley, and the other six years went by so fast. The universe knew she was going to leave us and make her own family. She makes him happy, too.”
“Yeah, I hate admitting your dad was right. Sometimes I wonder if that’s why he held onto you so tightly. He knew I was going to be in your life forever. I knew he liked me, James, but he hated me, Jamey. You know he helped dad get me?” Iris nods, but she loves hearing James tell her this story.
“If it wasn’t for your dad, I’d been living in London with her. We might not have ever met.”
“We would have,” Iris answers confidently. “You, James Carter Rogers, are my person. But I’m glad my dad was a match maker for us when we were two and three. I don’t want to think of what a basket case I would have been without you.”
“Ris?” she presses her forehead against his, staring at her favorite face. “Marry me, again.”
“You’re needy. First trying to talk me into another baby, and now another wedding.”
“Do it. Marry me again.”
“How about, next year. It’ll be our twentieth wedding anniversary,” he gives her a solid kiss on her lips.

Iris slams her laptop down and dramatically crashes her head on her desk. Ready to give up and so frustrated she could cry. “Iris?” Matt peaks his head into her office. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“Hmm,” he moves to sit in the seat in front of her desk. “You sound like you’re lying.”
“Go back to your office,” she picks up a pen and clicks it a few times. Eyes staring blankly at nothing, “You know what I hate about you being blind?”
“What’s that?” he gives a kind smile and she rolls her eyes. “I heard that.”
“That’s what I hate. Your super hearing.”
“Why don’t you tell me what’s really bothering you. It’s the case, isn’t it?” even though she only nods, her and Matt have a sixth sense with each other. He knows her next moves. Always. “What is it that you can’t figure out.”
“Her why,” Matt readjusts his sitting and leans closer. “I mean, why now? Why did she do it this way?”
“Stop, and explain.”
“Abel is three there had to be a reason that she kept Jax away from him.”
“So, you think Jax is hiding something?”
“No,” Iris responds quickly. She is pretty sure on Jax’s intentions, especially after what he admitted. “But why three years? Jax has been out of the club at that point a little over a year. So when Abel was born he was deep in the MC. Why wait until now? And if it wasn’t for how she let it be known, I wouldn’t think that this in some way stems back to my daughter.”
“What do you mean?”
“Look,” she pulls up Wendy’s records, “she works at a pharmacy on Loving Road. She told me when she came in that we were the closet office to her work and it was her lunch break. There are four law offices between her job and ours. Lie one. Not to mention that we are a business practice. Three of the four before us are family. And why did she specifically ask to speak to me, and not you or whoever was available. You were here, too. She wanted me to see who she was claiming to be Abel’s father. Why?”
“Because she knew that Jax and Posie were involved,” Iris can see Matt’s wheels turning as he puts all this information together.
“And, a few weeks after Posie started working at the daycare, she pulled Abel out of a daycare that was cheaper and on her route to work. So now she’s paying more and going out of her way. So that’s not just coincidental. And Posie has talked about that boy since his first day there. Like he knew who she was. And when I left here the day she came in, so I could talk to Posie about Abel, he kept asking her if he was going to see his daddy. So clearly, he knew exactly who Jax was. Posie knew who Wendy was and the whole time she didn’t know that Wendy and Jax had been together.”
“Did they have a bad breakup?”
“It’s complicated, and not my story,” Matt nods making a mental note in his head to circle back to that. “That boy was not only pissed off when he saw Wendy knew who Posie was, but he was scared. Again, why now? Obviously, she had an ounce of knowledge that Jax was the father, and he is in fact. But why? Why keep him from Jax? Why is child support so important now that he’s dating someone with a trust fund? And how she let it be known that Jax had a child. It’s almost like…”
“She wanted them to break up. But again why? Jax doesn’t want to be with Wendy. So what is her goal? Why did her and Jax end? Has she ever been arrested?”
“Multiple times, all misdemeanors, all charges dropped.”
“Drugs?”
“Never arrested for it. But Jax and her didn’t have a traditional relationship. He’s never mentioned in any of those arrests. If I had to guess, she’s just never been caught, and that’s how she’s able to work at a pharmacy.”
“Hmm…” Matt goes into his head trying to sort through all the information. “Where does Posie and Jax live?”
Iris pauses a moment and pulls up a map online in relation to Wendy’s home and place of work. “She works and lives about five miles from their place.”
“Could be a coincidence,” Iris snorts. “So you think her obsession is with Posie?”
“I think her obsession is Jax and Posie is in her way. Jax doesn’t allow Posie at pickups and drop offs. Usually Opie goes with him, but Carter and Chris have as well, and Posie is at the estate, because he doesn’t want her alone at the apartment. Goddammit,” Iris slams her hand down on her desk. “I don’t know who I’m more mad at her for; Posie, Jax, or Abel. There’s no telling what she’s told that little boy, and he never wants to leave Posie. A girl he’s known for six months. He clings to her, and Jax has to pry that baby off her to take him back home.”
“That’s not normal behavior.”
“That’s why we have to send a calm one with him. Carter came back pissed off about the drop off, said he got a bad feeling about her.”
“Why hasn’t he used his private investigator?”
Iris scoffs, “Carter doesn’t have a PI.”
“Yeah, first hired him about twelve years ago.”
“That’s how old Otto is. What’s their name?”
“Client lawyer confidentiality. They’re a private investigator that’s all you’re getting from me. Talk to your brother-in-law. I’m surprised he hasn’t contacted them for this. He might have. What is Jax wanting out of this? We’re going to court soon, and he’s got to want something. Posie too.”
“Ideally, he wants rights. He wants on the birth certificate, he wants joint if not full custody. You heard him, she has been on drugs. Just never been arrested. There’s a reason that Abel wants to stay with Posie, not to mention what did she tell that poor baby while she was sneaking around. Abel knew Jax the moment he walked in the door. And with him asking Posie if he was going to see his dad, he knew that Jax came there to see Posie.”
“No proof of drug use, other than testing her now.”
“If Jax and Posie are subjected to urine tests and hair follicle tests, she needs the same. They both went through a psyche evaluations. Their apartment has been inspected. What has she been subjected too. I want Abel to see someone. And I know what you’re thinking. Emy is the best child psychologist in the county though.”
“It’ll never fly. That’s your sister-in-law, Posie’s aunt. But it might not hurt for a session, but it’ll get thrown out as soon as they see who talked with him. Your family is too big,” Iris chuckles, just talking about her concerns making her feel the tiniest bit at ease. “I’m not saying this as your partner or your lawyer, but as a friend. Wouldn’t hurt for Blade to dig into things.”
“Blade doesn’t do that kinda thing.”
“And I didn’t hear you wink.”

Abel runs to Jax and Posie’s door as soon as him and Jax had returned from picking up the pizza, “Nope,” Jax pulls him away from the door and those pouty blue eyes look up at him. “She’s got five more minutes, and then she’s coming out here, okay?”
“But I missed her.”
With a squat down to the floor to get on his eye level, he gives his son a kiss to the forehead, “She missed you, too, but,” he points over to the whiteboard in the kitchen, “see that, this is her study hour. She’ll be finished now in three minutes.”
“You know I can’t read, right?”
Opie comes up behind Abel, throwing him up and carries him to the fridge to pick out a drink, the three boys ready to eat right as they hear Posie’s alarm go off and she walks out, opening up her arms wide, and Abel runs to her. Giggling and smiling so big when she picks him up. “Osie!” he repeats over and over again. “We got pizza.”
“I smell it, and it smells amazing. I’m starving.”
The odd little family sit down and eat. While Posie struggles to keep her hand off Jax, and Abel just wants to be as close as possible to her. Talking like a family when another alarm goes off.
“Medicine!” Abel shouts, and Jax stands to pick Posie up and put her on the counter.
“Open up,” he says, while Posie gives him an eye roll listening to him, and he places her birth control in her mouth, and handing her a cup of water. “We’re almost at the four year mark.”
“Almost, Jaxy,” she leans towards him for a kiss and Opie and Abel groan together. Opie picks up the little boy and all four walk over to the couch, for a family movie night.
Opie is only slightly annoyed at how sickeningly sweet the trio is. Posie’s legs on top of Jax’s while Abel sits in her lap.
“Y’all are disgusting.”
__________________________________________
Jax runs his hand up and down Posie’s back, trying to hold her as close to him as possible. Her exhausted and warn body buzzes with the afterglow of post coital. Her body a bit more sensitive lately, and he didn’t care. She was always overly sensitive, and he’s just addicted to it.
Posie never can stay awake afterwards anymore. Almost immediately falling asleep, but only on top of him.
He starts drifting to sleep himself, but is woken up by the slow creaking of the door. Abel doesn’t look at Jax just the window, “Buddy what cha doing?”
“The window is open.”
Jax turns to look at the window he’s becoming more careless with. “Posie doesn’t like me too far away from her when I smoke,” he slowly nods his head, but still looks at the window. “Abel, bud, it’s okay.”
“You won’t let someone hurt her?” finally he looks at Jax, and his dad just nods his head.
“I won’t let anything hurt you or Posie. It’s late though, why don’t you get back in the bed.”
Abel gives a slow nod, but looks at Posie curled up on Jax, still sound asleep on his chest. “Can I call her mommy?”
“Abie, we should talk about this in the morning. Posie’s been very tired lately. School has been a lot.”
“Okay, I’m gonna close the window,” walking over to the window he looks out it for a a moment before closing it. “Lock it.”
